For some people professional journalism became a dirty word without evidence that there was a problem. Then you have young people that can't make it through a newspaper article.

There is plenty of evidence about the adverse effects of excessive news and politics on peoples' mental health. People should develop a healthy skepticism towards what politicians and the news media say. They would be much happier taking time out to watch cat videos, MVs and epic fail compilations on social media.
