“I think he’s the only one with the intestinal fortitude to put our country back,” echoed her husband, Perry, 62.

I have always been curious about to what time period in American history the MAGA contingent want to go back to? In recent memory there is the Bush era, with immigration liberalization and foreign intervention.

Or before the civil rights movement and full Jim Crow? Reagan who started taxing Social Security benefits?

These people seem to have a lot of passion and prejudices, but be very short on ideas. Which is why they have been easy to satirize.

Mr DeSantis has been trying to outTrump Mr Trump … a very difficult thing to do!

DeSantis is a combination of Trump and McConnell - smarter than Donald, just as conniving and unscrupulous as Mitch...

Like other Red State Govs, he's shown he'll stoop to any low to grab power...

The big question is, will Trump's pro-vaccine stance sour the MAGA masses? Will DeSantis turn on Trump and call him a "sell-out" for urging the vax and booster?

More machinations in MAGA-world....

That video of him putting on his mask was CLASSIC!

Not sure about all that, but DeSantis is definitely a rock star in the conservative arena.

Unlike Pelosi, Schumer, right? Lol

For those who don’t know, there’s a political party in the UK called the Monster Raving Loony Party. Its US branch is called the Republican Party, and currently its preferred candidates to be the next President are Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis

Lol, that just made zero sense!

Really? Trump thinks he's "gutless" - you agree? DeSantis thinks Trump's lockdown in 2020 was wrong - you agree?

Unlike Pelosi, Schumer, right? Lol

And you think they're Governors? LOL....

Trump fears DeSantis in 2024.

Naw, he doesn't, but he did once say that if he wouldn't run, DeSantis would continue his policies so that's just as good.

Really? Trump thinks he's "gutless" - you agree?

Depending on the context, opposing someone on a policy issue and making that a personal statement based on that doesn't mean I dislike or want to demean the individual, but knowing you, you like the cherry-pick things.

DeSantis thinks Trump's lockdown in 2020 was wrong - you agree?

I thought all lockdowns were wrong, regardless of who I support.

Uh-huh - you agree with Trump DeSantis is gutless?

OK, you agree with DeSantis that Trump screwed up with his lockdown....in addition to his claiming the vaccine "works and it's safe".... Quite a bit you disagree with him on....

And today we learn this....

*Former vice president Mike Pence on Friday strongly rejected former president Donald Trump’s renewed claims that he could have personally overturned the results of the 2020 election. “I heard this week that President Trump said I had the right to overturn the election. President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election. The presidency belongs to the American people, and the American people alone,” he said at a Federalist Society event in Florida. “Frankly there is almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president,” he added.*

Trump won’t share the limelight with anyone. As long as he is alive he will want to be the center of attention. He will run in 2024 then in 2028 then in 2032 and so on regardless of whether he wins or loses the election. It’s all about Trump Trump Trump in his world. If anyone challenges him for being the new face of The Republican Party, then be prepared to face the abuse and harassment that Trump will send your way!

This is the most common problem with many countries where people who have no interest in a country, contribute nothing to that country and have no plans to be part of that country vote in elections to chose a leader…
