The coronavirus needs to be properly dealt with before the private sector driven economy can do its full recovery, the obvious election question is thus which candidate will deal with the coronavirus better?

So long as Biden doesn’t talk about hiking taxes, he should be a shoe-in.

"Trust me!"

How many times do we have to be fooled before we collectively say, "No more!"

Oh, you finally want to stop watching CNN?

Oh, you finally want to stop watching CNN?

Why do you always assume posters who disagree with Trump watch CNN?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Trust me, very few deaths. It's going to be gone by April. Inject bleach. Fox aren't being nice to me. Twitter is silencing me. Waaah, waaah, waaah.

Makes sense. A man with a well-documented history of lying and fraud is exactly the sort of person to trust.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Why do you always assume posters who disagree with Trump watch CNN?

Deflection, obfuscation - an attempt to shift the narrative. Someone will be along shortly to ensure that this becomes the third disabled thread of the day.

The US economy is in tatters, unemployment at an all time high and the horrors of racism is never far from the headlines - but of course, none of this is trump's fault. It must be Obama/Clinton/the media.

trump has had 4 years to make America great again. Leaving aside what that exactly means... he seems to have failed every opportunity in doing so.

His Presidency has seen a hundred thousand dead, and racial divisions become even more stark - and all he can think of is how nobody should be able to question him.

This transition to greatness nonsense is an admission to his failure. As a leader and human being, who has shown himself to be incapable of intelligence, leadership, empathy and trust.

"Trust me."

Nah, these first 4 years have been quite enough.

President Donald Trump has a new pitch to voters for this fall: Trust me.

Absolutely, trust me....I'm the guy that said 62 times in 2016 that "we will build the wall and Mexico will pay for it". I even added "mark my words, mark my words"....

And after three years, see how I kept my promise?

A new report out of Customs and Border Protection and obtained by The Washington Post revealed the following. President Trump has built just three miles of primary wall on the U.S.-Mexico border where no barrier existed before. Overall, 194 miles of border wall have been constructed, but all but 16 miles are replacing previous structures. Of the 16 miles of new construction, 13 were to create new secondary walls, while three represented new primary border wall

Trump's pitch to voters: Trust me, economy will soar in 2021...

Trust me, because I have such a great history of being trustworthy. Right Ivana? Right Marla? Right Melania? Right Stormy?

And the economy will soar - it will soar to depths deeper than where it is at now...

Even Trump's own team is saying it will take years for the economy to get back on track...

By then, Trump will be tossed out and sitting in a cell with Roger Stone for his illegal payoff to Stormy...

After 100K deaths, 41 million unemployed, and "inject disinfectant", Americans no longer buy the Trump con-job...

Better call Nikki Haley, quick...

“Trust me, I didn’t collide with Russia. No seriously, I didn’t! Why won’t you trust me?”

In this Feb. 28, 2020, file photo President Donald Trump speaks at a campaign rally in North Charleston, S.C

Look at that crowd! Now why can't Biden attract anywhere near that many people at his rallies?

I for one cant wait to see the back of this narcissistic oompa lumpa!

Four and a half more years, Kobe. Tee hee!

"Trust me!" How many times do we have to be fooled before we collectively say, "No more!"

Heck, he got the economy roaring once, he'll get it roaring again.

The people already trusted Trump and look where we are now. Many phoned in about using disinfectant.

The lying media is powerful. Indeed, look at all the people on JT who actually still think Trump suggested that.

I have more than once given the link to the press conference that, if you watch that entire segment, you will realize you've been lied to. Look it up yourselves.

By then, Trump will be tossed out and sitting in a cell with Roger Stone blah blah blah

Hahahahaha, oh lincolnman, you were telling us last spring that Trump was going to be sitting in a cell with Roger Stone when he gets impeached. What happened? Tee hee!

So long as Biden doesn’t talk about hiking taxes, he should be a shoe-in.

Are you sure he'll be OK with saying stuff like "If you're having trouble figuring out if you support me or Trump, you ain't black" and "Look, Fat" and "You're a dog faced pony soldier" ?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump got to be joking. He will be the last person on earth to be trusted.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Are you sure he'll be OK with saying stuff like "If you're having trouble figuring out if you support me or Trump, you ain't black" and "Look, Fat" and "You're a dog faced pony soldier" ?

He’s a poor choice. Nearly as bad as someone talking about injecting disinfectant, telling people his dad was born in Germany and seeing crowds which don’t exist.

zichi:

I haven't watched CNN in more than 20 years

So what do you watch?

but still disapprove of Trump and his policies.

Disapproving of policies would be one thing that can be based on reason and argued about. The unhinged hatred of orange Drumpf is a mental condition created by CNN et al.

Many phoned in about using disinfectant.

The disinfectant hoax was touted by CNN. And apparently by whatever you are watching What is it? BBC?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

The disinfectant hoax was touted by CNN.

Are you saying actual footage of Trump talking about injecting disinfectant was created by CNN?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The lying media is powerful. Indeed, look at all the people on JT who actually still think Trump suggested that.

I have more than once given the link to the press conference that, if you watch that entire segment, you will realize you've been lied to. Look it up yourselves.

Yea, look it up....well, on second thought, maybe you shouldn't...it could be humiliating for Trump supporters...

"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."

By then, Trump will be tossed out and sitting in a cell with Roger Stone blah blah blah

Hahahahaha, you were telling us last spring that Trump was going to be sitting in a cell with Roger Stone when he gets impeached. What happened? Tee hee!

Roger's waiting for him, so is White Power Bill...be careful in the shower Donnie...

Economic indicators down for Trump before the virus. So he'll say anything to try to get his Fox base to believe his bs and lies.

Trump vowed a reduction in the total federal debt. Oh, wait, not a reduction, he said he would erase it. It's gone up under Trump with the GOP tax cuts and short term spending bills. Way up with more spending to come from him, as a rule.

He said the GDP would grow and grow under him, but all he did was rode the coat tails of a strong Obama economy, and his rate has been an OK, but not great 2.3% avg. that isn't close to his bragging of GDP 3, 4, 6% under his watch. He could have learned a few things from Obama, if he'd just try to pay attention to reality.

Unemployment was on a downward trend since the 2008 Republican financial disaster with Obama, and Trump was riding Obama's coat tails on this, as well. It'll go up for sure, and not just because of the virus, his policies will reduce jobs from the poor trade market he's screwing up. Again, if his policies are terrible in comparison to Obama's. It's Trump's thing to ridicule Obama, but in truth, he's a way worse economic president.

The poor relations with allies, silly trade wars created by him, and his penchant for blowhard statements he can't keep...Mexico will pay for the wall was one of the dumber one's. China will pay tariffs another. These things aren't helping his economic cause.

At any rate, he's betting on the economy coming back is just words to try to maintain his political base to the election. It's why he opened up the country...he wants re-election so bad, he doesn't care about what the virus does to whom, as long he doesn't get it. The improved economy likely isn't going to happen with people abstaining from gathering nearly as much as his attempts to get them to do it. There are some less smart people who will do as Trump says, but most of the country understand the risk, both with the virus and not having a moving economy. They will still be cautious, not party a lot. Not travel a lot and the economy won't move quickly.

We'll see how it goes but people will definitely remember he didn't keep his vow to erase the federal debt as it keeps going up. His policies of trade wars is not working well with China and they are not paying the tariffs. The wall wasn't paid for by Mexico, it just adds deficit. Of course, this is how he's always done business...debt based and y'kno...old habits die hard. Even 3%, much less 6% GDP won't happen under his watch...he'll say that again, I'm sure...that if elected the GDP will rise to the greatest levels ever and the deficit will go down. Anyone who goes for that bait again is the definition of insanity.

So Trump knows the economy is a tough thing to bank on for November, and he is now pushing that he'll make 2021's economy great. Liar. No he won't.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

He did it before, it’ll happen again, Biden would crash it and increase entitlements and watch the unemployment rise further.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Disapproving of policies would be one thing that can be based on reason and argued about. The unhinged hatred of orange Drumpf is a mental condition created by CNN et al.

Why is that Trump supporters on a Japanese site always have such detailed knowledge of what is being reported on a US domestic channel? You wouldn't have thought they would watch it at all, yet some can't write a post without writing about it. Ten mentions of CNN above. Only two of Fox, by comparison.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Why is that Trump supporters on a Japanese site

Who are American

always have such detailed knowledge of what is being reported on a US domestic channel?

News outlets, cable outlets, carrier pigeons....

You wouldn't have thought they would watch it at all, yet some can't write a post without writing about it. Ten mentions of CNN above.

Because CNN only thrives in Trump hate and nothing else.

"The president is placing a bet by reopening the economy before public health officials believe it is safe. If the economy recovers sharply and infection rates remain steady or go down, then voters will reward his boldness, but if we continue to see massive unemployment and a spike in new infections and deaths, all the political wordsmithery the world will offer won’t help him.”

Big gamble for the President. He knows that infections will rise a bit if the economy re-opens - this is an unfortunate decision that any leader needs to take - and postponing a re-opening for too long can result in additional, non-virus deaths.

However, he has taken the decision without any nuance - he just has a simple message of "OPEN", and appears to have no regards for those who will die or what numbers can die as a result. At present, total deaths in the US would probably have reached 150,000, but leaving lock down could quite easily lead to 200,000 or more and possibly a second lock down.

And while he should be fighting the virus, he is now distracted by race riots and is in a serious spat with Twitter, his favorite megaphone. Tomorrow's story is going to be about Twitter blocking his post celebrating violence - he is going to crazy.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Because CNN only thrives in Trump hate and nothing else.

But you said nobody watches it. How can it thrive with no audience?

This needs to be cleared up.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

He did it before, it’ll happen again, Biden would crash it and increase entitlements and watch the unemployment rise further.

History does have a way of repeating itself;

Repub George HW Bush led a successful war, but a much less successful economy...

Dem Bill Clinton increased the stock market four-fold, wiped out the budget deficit, and actually created a surplus...

Rep George W Bush led a much less successful war, and then cratered the economy as he left office...

Dem Barack Obama saved the economy and increased the stock market three-fold...

Repub Donald Trump turned the economy into a smoking hole - the worst performance since the Great Depression...

And as twice before, in Nov another Dem will be voted in to save the economy again...

Divine providence...evangelicals can't argue with that...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He did it before, it’ll happen again, Biden would crash it and increase entitlements and watch the unemployment rise further.

Eight years of a vice-presidency, that took the destroyed economy left by Bush, and left the country with a well-moving economy, proves you wrong.

Trump artificially hyped up the economy by withdrawing a bunch of money of the country credit card (aka - gave his billionaire buddies $1 trillion in tax breaks that the country will have to pay back during future administrations). The virus is what crashed Trump's economy, but it was coming either way.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Well, the good thing that has come out of Trump kneecapping Twitter, is that now they HAVE to moderate his posts, or risk being prosecuted under Trump's new laws.

Trump signed an executive order ensuring that they won't be able to let him keep posting against the T&C of the platform - if they did, they would be opening themselves up to liability.

So much for the twatter in chief. Now he's only going to have the fake-news MSM to push his garbage, and we all know the fake-news MSM can't be trusted.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Republican presidents cannot be trusted with the economy.

I don’t know if they are unlucky, plain stupid, reckless or a mixture of these or other traits .

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It's funny watching all these righties going on about CNN. I personally only watch (well, read) Fox News, and never touch CNN.

Seems we're watching each other's news.

Except the odds that they don't watch Fox News as well as CNN are basically nil.

It's weird they think there are only two news outlets in the world. It's also very telling that they're either too stupid, or too ignorant, to realize that the non-biased non-American news reports on Trump's failures as much as I suspect CNN does.

While you do need to be alt-right to support Trump, you only need to not be alt-right to point out how pathetic a president he is. You don't need to be far-left.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

If the dangerous disgrace occupying the White House states “trust me”, we should interpret the opposite.

It’s just another incoherent, part and parcel of the non-stop reelection campaign.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Real leaders earn trust.

Trump demands it.

Because that works. Right?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

But you said nobody watches it. How can it thrive with no audience?

The haters, not the masses

This needs to be cleared up.

You are welcome.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I think by his actions and communications, with regard to police brutality, China  . . . he is most likely a racist; and with regard to foreign policy, Ukraine, WHO, the majority in Congress, he has failed to uphold diplomacy.  It's time for new leadership in USA.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Heck, he got the economy roaring once, he'll get it roaring again.

Not with his failed TrumpCare

And you take that as Trump suggested people inject disinfectant on their own, and not as doctors and scientists working together to come up with effective treatments? Never heard of chemotherapy? Yeah, it's injecting stuff into your body that causes you to lose your hair and make you want to throw up. But it''s effective in treating cancer.

Trump will lose by a landslide in November. His lack of seriousness about Covid-19 has helped unemployment go from 3.5% to about 20% in 3 months and has put the economy in tatters. Luckily there are enough intelligent people in the US who know just how bad he is at leading, talking, governing, encouraging, and telling the truth. They also now know how good he is at cheating, lying, deflecting, blaming others, and ranting about nothing.

Nah, he'll win, probably in a landslide, even conceding California and New York.

No, Biden's the joke. And Trump's kept more promises than Barack "You can keep your doctor" Obama ever did.
