Trump is responsible for the Republican failures in the midterms turning the red wave into nothing more than a bottle of ketchup for his burgers. Even denies any responsibility but was ready to claim the credits. Typical Trump.
DeSantis is the new younger poster boy of the GOP and Trump fears him. Trump has split the GOP with some members no longer supporting him or wanting him for their nomination in 2024.
Bob Fosse
“I also think the Republican Party can and should do better than a cheap imitation of Trump, which is what I think Ron DeSantis is.”
I hope they both run. Herschel too. The ensuing entertainment will be glorious.

It's going to be entertaining watching the Republicans over the next year or so. Trump lost his hold, but not his fighting spirit, or his core base. Others are going to try to take the party in a forward more reasonable direction, but he's going to drag them down kicking and screaming, like a 2-year old toddler who refuses to go to bed.

Trump won't allow Desantis to run in 2024 since the only person who can run in the Trump party is Trump. And voting for Trump is not about doing it for American. It's about doing it for Trump and only Trump.

Another Trump candidate concedes. Douglas Mastriano in Pennsylvania governor election concedes to democrat Josh Shapiro.
Mastriano is a far-right politician. Trump election denier.
Strangerland
The right in America is riddled with ED (Election Denial). Absolutely riddled with it.

Trump vs. DeSantis: A simmering rivalry bursts into view
Nice opinion piece.
Gives non-US citizens a headline to grab onto in their Google searches for a quest in what they believe is insight into American voters' minds.
Amusing.
And none of them mentioned January 6 yet? Just a matter of time.
Bob Fosse
“That leaves Trump in perhaps his most vulnerable position since he sparked the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6, 2021.”
It’s all downhill from here. He reminds me more and more of the pitiful Jake la Motta at the end of Raging Bull. But without the winning to reminisce about.

Mike Pence said in an exclusive interview with ABC's "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir that former President Donald Trump's rhetoric was "reckless" as a mob of his supporters ransacked the Capitol last year -- with Pence and others temporarily forced into hiding.
"I mean, the president's words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem," Pence told Muir.
'It doesn't take courage to break the law. It takes courage to uphold the law.'
Bob Fosse
Here’s what a large number of misguided people believed was an ‘insight into American voters’ minds’

How long does Trump have? The only people who want him to declare tomorrow are Democrats.

I'm American (non Trumper) and in my mind Trump is crazy and he will not allow Desantis to run since it can only be Trump. It's that simple. It's either Trump or a Liberal because it cannot be another person in the Republican party other than Trump. All or nothing. Now some Americans (Trump) think that Stewart Rhodes is a great American hero who is a political prisoner. Other Americans (Again, Trump) think that Hillary is complicit in child trafficking. Take your pick and you can understand what is going on in the mind of me (a non Trump American) and Trump Americans.

Funkymofo (love your moniker!), that is very true. As a dyed-in-the-wool Demo, the next two years are tantalizing. Trump is facing two scenarios: being nominated by the GOP or going to jail. (Well, okay, maybe both.)

Well that rules out the 3-time loser USS Trump Titanic...
It will be increasing difficult for our pro-Trump friends here to continue their fruitless defending of both Trump and DeSantis, as this isn't a "we love both choice"....Trump has already proved that...
Ask them if they agree with Trump that DeSantis is a "sanctimonious, fat, whiny, phony" and they'll say incredulously "that's his opinion"....
But we all know that the "warm war" is about to get "hot".....
Trump will not allow someone else to be deemed the "Ultra MAGA King" - for only one reason....
The King controls the grift - and you can't fleece the flock unless you wear the crown...
So Ron better steel himself and his wife for accusations of treason, political assassinations, support to the Mullahs, child molestation, and "small hands"...

Enough Narcissus J. Trumpnocchio, the former Insurrectionist-in-Chief, I say!

No, not entirely, not even close to the truth. A lot of the failures came from Mitch not wanting to back some of these candidates, the majority being anti-establishment, and something that could pose a direct threat to Mitch's position on so many levels, the other thing was also that the GOP didn't see the abortion issue as serious as the way the Dems did in the same way the Dems didn't take crime, the border or inflation seriously
Well, since the establishment wants to shove all of the blame on his lap, I wouldn't take it either.
Trump doesn't fear him, although Trump does expect loyalty from the people he brought in, not surprisingly, I get it, but Trump should capitalize on DeSantis's recent success and support him more.
Yeah, the media keeps saying that, it just never ceases to amaze me how liberals will bite at everything that is thrown to them.
Nothing has changed that much with the establishment still being anti-Trump and the people that back DeSantis, but I get it, hyping it up helps the media greatly.

All the GOP divisions only show how rotten an impact, and a disgraceful legacy Diaper Quisling has given them. And he IS responsible for most of it, although the ones who were his lackeys are trying to distance themselves from him because he's so shameful.
The Bible says, 'There's no honor amongst thieves'.
And when Macbeth was overthrown in the Shakespeare play, his own security deserted him. And in 2011, when the Libyan rebels overran Tripoli and came to Qaddafy's palace/compound, where were the nearly comical straight-out-of-a-James-Bond-movie phalanx of women 'babe' bodyguards that protected him and stopped so many coup attempts all the years before? Gone, baby, GONE.
When people know the sink is sinking, when they know that time's up, they flee because they want to save their butts. That's how the story goes, and history shows it again and again.

This is great for the Republican Party, More free publicity please.
After the outstanding showing in the mid-term elections, the Republican will have several strong presidential candidates to run against the weakest Democratic candidates in decades.
MAGA!

Mr. Trump may wish to exercise care before angering the governor of the state in which he lives and in which he has two high profile resort properties. Said governor, if angered sufficiently man ask his different department heads to look into the various aspects of how he runs his businesses, reports his taxes and property values, is he remitting sales taxes correctly, are employees legally paid, are they even legal residents, etc.. Especially since Mr. Trump has a history of ignoring state and Federal laws. The Florida AG could become as much a problem to Mr. Trump as the New York AG is now.
Desert Tortoise
DeSantis vs Trump is the political equivalent of Lucha Libre.
Desert Tortoise
If another Republican candidate wants to run against Mr. Trump in the primary election there is absolutely nothing Mr. Trump can legally do to stop them. The way election laws in the states work, any candidate that files on time and is otherwise qualified will appear on the primary election ballot.

Trump/DeSantis.

This is the fantasy excuse the pro-Trump camp is trying to peddle - which collides with the truth that McConnell put millions into the races for these candidates, and Trump's PAC put ZERO...
If they win it's due to me, if they lose it's someone elses fault - typical Trump 2-year old reasoning...
Trump says he's "sanctimonious, fat, whiny, and a phony"...that's some endorsement...and Trump-world says worse is coming...

Thanks for admitting it...finally...
Like Trump, looks like you've flipped on Fox too....now they're just part of the liberal MSM too, huh?

Not true at all, quite the opposite actually, the GOP were wandering through the forest before Trump came to the scene and taught the GOP to get a backbone, stand up to these radicals and play their game which until his arrival was something unattainable.
Most Americans could care less what the establishment thinks or says, they know Trump has control of the GOP and if they undermine him they would be cutting their own throats politically that’s why they’re walking a fine line here.
Oh, I wish the Dems would read and honor that quote.
There you go, and that’s why people can’t flee far and fast enough from the establishment.
Which Mitch did and now that put a bigger target on his back.

Trump will be a GOP dump.
bass4funk
Of course that is the hope of the establishment, not going to happen.

Yeah, hmmm…

Last week you predicted the democrats would be crushed. Turning out to be more of a whimper in the schoolyard. You lost the Senate and only won the House by a handful of seats.
Larger voter turnout than last time too.
You won, just!
Rocky road ahead.
Strangerland
You can tell Trump is scared of DiSantos because Trump and his family keep threatening him to not run for the presidency.
If they weren't worried, they'd be fine with it.
bass4funk
They lost the House, so I would say that is very crushing
Well, yes.
For Biden, I do agree.
bass4funk
You know Trump personally? How so?
According to you? Because you say so? Hmmm….
Strangerland
Is that what is passing for a "red tsunami" on the right these days?
bass4funk
Not trying to argue.
Private education will do that.

treasonTrump is scared of everybody and everything. He knows what he has done is wrong and that's why he has committed so many crimes and has been bullying and sassing off his motormouth all the time with hatred and violence, He is so scared of everything, that's why he waged a personal war on the US public in 2020. He is so scared of the truth and he is scared of justice. And his ego is larger than the Sun, he can't handle opposition or rivalry. He is paranoid, hateful and scared.
Joe Biden was one of the first people to truly put that narccisstic bastard in his place by saying these simple words: '*Will you ***shut up**, man?!!'
