The utmost important thing that Trump can do is to get himself out of the White House. Hopefully, willingly. If not, there are plenty of people who know how to get rid of trespassers. Good riddance.

I'd love to watch Trump get dragged out of the White House on live TV.

Once he's out, fumigate that place. Get rid of bugs (both bugs that listen and bugs that kill).

@Reckless

That is rich as Democrats after Obama did a lot to trip up Trump.

Examples please!!!! All I remember is trump ignoring the Obama guide books, skipping Obama tranisitioon teams meetings, and spending 4 years trying to remove all the things that Obama created.

Why was trump unprepared when the pandemic came again? I remember, he fired the team created by pres. Obama.

Luckily, Biden will just executive order them right back insuring Pres. Obama and Pres. Biden's legacies! Another trump failure!

That is rich as Democrats after Obama did a lot to trip up Trump. In any case, I want a smooth transition. Good luck Mr. Biden.

They sure did, I remember that. Gloomy faces from day 1.

Could of all been avoided; vote in person, as most repubs did

Dem controlled cities with mail in ballots? People voting Biden but also voting for a repub house? Thats like me voting Trump and for a dem at the same time. What for?

Its Trumps trademark, and his right. The Giuliani briefing was very strange; observers being denied access to polls. What for? Probably nothing there, but why do that?

Everything Rudy does is strange. Couldn't even book the Four Seasons Hotel for a mad rant with any success. And poll observers were there, and Trump's lawyers had to admit this in front of a judge. Hope this helps x x

The Giuliani briefing was held at a landscaping company across the street from an adult bookstore - and you don't think that's strange?

It was beyond surreal...

Dial back to the Nov3 election in 2016. One week after the Election Day president elect Trump was in the White House meeting with Obama. Even before the state governors had sent the election results to the US Archive and before the EC announced the results. No screams or cries from Clinton on voter fraud.

Yes, but Trump didn't say, "We have put together the most comprehenive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics", a week before an election which had more dodgy stuff than a jammy dodger.

Please let me know: Do these electoral college delegates have to vote for who won the election in the state, or are they free to vote for who they want?

No, they don't have to, but they would be foolish not to.

If Trump was smart, which he isn't, he'd be having his lawyers working on his very weak defense in all the criminal charges he is facing post WH....rather than the faux "the election was stolen" fairy tale...

"Individual-1", inflated assets on his tax returns, campaign finance violations...

He and the whole Trump Crime Family Cabal are in the sights of the NY Southern District Attorney....

But do what you want Donald - it will just mean more cell time for you with your bunk mate Manafort...

Should be noted that the GSA admin is a Trump appointee, the one in charge of releasing funds to help the transition. What a mess.

The transition process cannot shift into high gear until the government's General Services Administration (GSA) certifies the winner, and it said on Saturday it had not yet made a determination. Until then, the GSA can continue providing Biden's team with offices, computers and background checks for security clearances, but they cannot yet enter federal agencies.

My understanding is that people voted on the same ballot for senate and house races as well. So if Trump wants to invalidate the presidential choices he has to invalidate the senate and house races too because they were on the same ballot. How can you invalidate only a piece of the ballot? Also there would have to be substantial fraud and there has never been on a level he needs to win. A right-wing group tried to find it before and found so little as to be meaningless. It's not even a rounding error. Madness begets madness.

Trumps journey into irrelevance has already started but it will hold up the USA.

January 20th I bet he barricades himself in White House. The moment GSA allows it they should change the locks and doorstaff

As expected, the unfit drama queen occupying the White House, is causing an unnecessary constitutional crisis at the detriment and expense of We The People of The United States of America.

For shame!

They will set a new low, after the Bush43 handover to Obama.

It's worth nothing that further. While it is law to help the transition, the Bush to Obama transition team is legendary in its completeness and set a high standard. For all Bush's faults, the transfer to Obama wasn't one. One that Obama continued to the Trump administration even though it was refused.

Luckily for the USA, Biden's team has been through this before and already have their own briefing notes. So even if the Trump administration does nothing, there's enough to do with reviewing each department outside the White House for most of the transition to work.

The delay though is entirely unnecessary and spiteful

Going forward with placing staff with congress approval, a lot will depend on Georgia's senate race. Otherwise with an obstructionist senate, Biden will be forced to do temporary appointments. If the Georgia gambit fails he'll have to try again in two years.

That's my understanding, anyway

Why should Mr. Biden expect Mr. Trump to be civil? Mr. Biden called him a clown to his face in the first debate. Pettiness breeds pettiness. If you want something from someone, you need to be civil and polite to them, no matter how much you dislike them. (Wasn't there something said on his side about keeping the moral high ground, "when they go low, we go high"?) Mr. Biden will get the level of cooperation from Mr. Trump that he earned with his insults - in other words, about zero. Everyone on this planet knows that Mr. Trump is a glutton for flattery. Butter him up. Tell him how great he is (even if you have to cross your fingers behind your back while saying it). And you might just get what you want from him, now or later on. Insult him to his face in public? He IS from New York, and he will react like a New Yorker.

I predict a scorched earth campaign so Mr. Biden has to work doubly hard to get things running again. And also facilitating many political appointees to "burrow" into the career civil service to act as landmines and whistleblowers for the next four years.

nor did Biden say that!

So Biden doesn't say "We have put together I think, the most extensive, inclusive, voter fraud organization in the history of American politics" in his speech below, which was made a week before the election?

That’s right, he doesn’t.

*Video from an episode of the “Pod Save America” podcast featuring Joseph R. Biden Jr. was altered to give the false impression that he was discussing his support of voter fraud*.

So he doesn't say "anti-fraud organization" or "fraud prevention organization", but just says "voter fraud organization". Seems like a Freudian slip to me.

Such as? Be specific.

Please let me know: Do these electoral college delegates have to vote for who won the election in the state, or are they free to vote for who they want?

A US Supreme Court opinion issued just four months ago prohibits "unfaithful electors". All but I think three states have laws requiring electors to vote for whichever candidate earned the most popular votes in their state. The three that do not split their electors between the winner and loser. All require their electors to vote in accordance with the laws of their state. The few states where a Republican Legislature might want to re-write that law and send a group of Republican voting electors in defiance of the popular vote are basically check mated by Democratic governors who would surely veto any attempt to re-write state law at this point.

Which is exactly why the chickens are coming home to roost with Trump right now.

Oh, snap!

You are grasping at straws.
