Wars are raging around the world, so why are young people so passionate about Gaza?

Why? Because they are not stupid. Unlike other war where most of the world in the right side. Gaza war being backed by US tax payer and being supplied with various weapon around the world, where in fact those weapon being used

While labeling people as anti-Semitic when people try to protest and questioning genocide.

Also it already happened for the last 76 years.

the Palestinian death toll from the Israel Defense Forces’ response is believed to have exceeded 34,000. Many Palestinians are also experiencing what the United Nations has termed a “full-blown famine”.

Complete lack of knowledge of history, so they can pretend like it is a blank slate with ebil Israel oppressing the peaceful Arabs. Also snaps into their anti-colonial narrative.

History? Those students are smarter than most people who believe that current war is only started because October 7th incident last year. It has more history than that.

I think not only are they stupid and antisemitic, a lot of them don’t even know what or why they’re protesting, but many just follow the herd and when confronted on camera by people that ask legitimate questions, they look like deers caught in the headlights. The U.S. despite the waffling of this…..current President is unwavering and the antics of these ignorant people won’t matter and won’t change that relationship. This will blow over soon and once the fog is lifted they’ll realize how dumb and brainwashed they were to take on something that will never come to fruition.

Not only that, even threating International Criminal Court judges and prosecutors.

As they should

October 7th was the final straw and put a check mark and red dot on Hamas and thankfully, they’re finally going in and retiring as many Hamas leadership as they can, and I pray they never stop until their objective is met. They will never get the Jews off their homeland or destroy them, just not going to happen. Israel will win for its people and its homeland.

Many reasons, such as latent antisemitism, and misinformation fed to their Tik Tok accounts.

Hamas will still be there and rebound to October 7th levels. It's fate you know.

Students are learning how to protest and make their voices heard

Granted some of the protesting isn't being done correctly , but atleast they are standing up for what they believe !

I doubt Hamas would use the same tactics as oct 7 again

Yes, very true, but it will take years at this point to build up that new leadership, so that gives the Israelis years of breathing room to reset and have normal lives. Hamas will never get the Jews out of their homeland, never. I mean you can’t force a square peg into a circle.

I completely agree, but do it respectfully and peacefully and don’t intimidate harass, block or harm any students while doing so. If they can do that, go for it.

they’re being easily manipulated by misinformation, proven to be contrived and disseminated by putin and xi to disrupt the u.s.

if you ever listen to them speak or answer questions, they’re ignorant of history and the goal of hamas. even the son of the hamas leader, who disavows hamas and lives in the u.s. says they’re ignorant.

Israel will win for its people and its homeland.

There's no winners in this conflict

Israel has failed miserably

Unfortunately Israel will receive retaliation for the unnecessary slaughter of so many Palestinians and their homes and devastation caused

If Israel had accepted fair negotiations the October 7 incident never would have happened in the first place.

Netanyahu has overstepped with his military destruction of Gaza killing more than people than in any previous campaigns. This has caused international outrage.

Holy baloney Batman!

As is common these days, accuse your enemy of the exact same thing you are doing.

Israel could finish this war in 48 hours but it is being careful not to hurt civilians.

Yes, Israel will win because it will safeguard its homeland. That is the only thing that matters.

Israel has failed miserably

They got got kicked out of the motherland??

Unfortunately Israel will receive retaliation for the unnecessary slaughter of so many Palestinians and their homes and devastation caused

And Israel will again, kill as many of these jihadists as needed.

If Israel had accepted fair negotiations the October 7 incident never would have happened in the first place.

What a joke that was. When the Palestinians can run the Jews out of their homeland I will bite my tongue

The answer is simple.

This is genocide. This is war without rules. This is total destruction.

The Palestinians I know or have met are not antisemitic. They are not necessarily even against Israelis. They are against Zionists.

It is important to understand the definitions of Jew, Israeli and Zionist. Zionists believe Jews are God's chosen people, Jew's are superior to other races and religion, Jews have a God-given right to the Holy Land.

Zionists are the racist and extremist Jews.

Do native American's in this day and age have a god-given right to persecute descendants of Europeans and other immigrants and take their land forcible? Do Celts have the right to throw descendants of invaders like the Romans, French and Vikings out of Britain? Do the Ainu have the right to claim all of Hokkaido?

If we go back to the Vietnam war, the students were right, the government was wrong. If we think more about Vietnam, dropping bombs creates enemies, creates support for resistance fighters and actually creates resistance.

Israel bombs universities, holy places, hospitals.

I support the student protesters. We should all support them. The ability to protest is an essential part of democracy. Militarised police are the enemy of democracy, the enemy of free expression.

I have witnessed a couple of Palestinian demonstrations in Japan. Both were peaceful. One was a march. The only police there were for traffic control. The police were dressed in everyday police uniform not battle gear. Jews were part of, a welcomed and accepted part of the march. The other was at Shinjuku Station South Exit. i didn't notice any police there.

Far to many young people are ignorant of world history because they just do not care, because it does not affect their daily lives and routines, and what is happening in Gaza and Ukraine may as well be on another planet. Sadly this is because no country teaches its own students their own countries 'real' history, as in wars or peoples they have suppressed. I my country and school we were taught every thing about Hitler and his evil regime,

They will never get the Jews off their homeland

I find that an ugly opinion. I'd say one's homeland is where one lived since childhood. As a kid in Glasgow about a quarter of the kids in my class were Jewish. We shared the same homeland - the area around the school. We sat together, we studied together, we played together. I'd say Israel and Palestine are the homelands of those who have lived there since childhood, irrespective of religion or where their ancestors lived. Israel is as much the homeland of Jews raised outside Israel as Hallstatt (thought to be the origin of the Celts) is my homeland.

Not all young people are passionate about Gaza. But the young people that are passionate seem to be mostly from n-america and europe, what does that tell us? Unfortunately, I think Israel and Hamas (palestine) will continue fighting no matter what other people and countries feel about the whole thing. There no interest to make peace.

Why? Because they are not stupid.

I would argue the opposite. The level of ignorance displayed in some of the interviews with these campus campers is astounding. Seems they are just jumping on the lastest cause de jour, like BLM, climate change, CRT or genderism before.

These groups include "Queers for Palestine" .... let that sink in.

This is genocide. This is war without rules. This is total destruction.

It is war without rules as far as Hamas is concerned. The terrorism on Oct 7 was unparalleld barbarism. And Hamas can end this war at any time by surrendering and releasing the hostages. Why do you not ask for that?

The Palestinians I know or have met are not antisemitic. They are not necessarily even against Israelis. They are against Zionists.

How do you define "Palestinians"?

It is important to understand the definitions of Jew, Israeli and Zionist. Zionists believe Jews are God's chosen people, Jew's are superior to other races and religion,

Err... I thought the definition of Zionism is simply believing that Israel has a right to exist. Where did you get your definition from?

Jews have a God-given right to the Holy Land. Zionists are the racist and extremist Jews.

Well, Israel was established by the UN, and originally included the West Bank. If you read the founding documents, they say nothing about Holy Land.

And btw, if you replace the word Jews, you have what the Hamas Charter says. So how do you feel about that?

Mr Goodman

I doubt Hamas would use the same tactics as oct 7 again

Why? Seeing how effective the propaganda and these student protests are, I would argue they will.
