What if carbon border taxes applied to all carbon – fossil fuels, too?

What this really means is we will all be paying more taxes to our governments. Despite governments massively increasing inflation and in cases like the UK, destroying their currency, causing ever more poverty as everything rises in price. Basically, everything is going to get worse for everyone who isn't rich.

Protects domestic markets, buy local to avoid the added costs. Though I'm not sure if this tax will be directly tied to actual emissions, rather likely product based.
Not a bad idea if it works.
