Who in their right mind would pay money or dedicate their time to watch this movie ? More absolute empty -headed so called entertainment from Hollywood.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Was it intentional or not, though? If it was intentional, this seems way more subtle than the brutes in Peking are usually capable of.

The CCP and its supporters are a threat to the whole world. Entertainment is one of the many tools they use to wage war. They must be stopped.

"Persuasion"?
You mean outright and uncivilized BULLYING AND MILITARY INTIMIDATION.
The chinazis created a big stink about Tom Cruise's jacket in Top Gun: Maverick, too.
Thank God, Tom Cruise had the guts to go ahead and wear that jacket with Japanese & Taiwanese flags.
By the way, Seven Years in Tibet ( Brad Pitt) and Red Corner ( Richard Gere) are great movies too.

Do they threaten other companies to not allow their content to be shown because it doesn't jive with their view on things?

Made in Hollywood, Censored in Beijing,” details how Hollywood decision-makers are increasingly making decisions about their films “based on an effort to avoid antagonizing Chinese officials who control whether their films gain access to the booming Chinese market.”
Do Disney , marvel ,DC and all that programming do that through entertainment?
Moonraker
It was lobbying by capitalist corporations in the pursuit of profit in China that helped undermine all morals and good sense in dealing with China 25 years ago. In fact, pursuit of profit will always leave aside ethics anyway. Capitalism is morally bankrupt, as is China. The rest suffer the consequences.

How could you know it's empty-headed without watching it?

"Sluurrrp, juicy Chinese money, sluurrrp, can't get enough!" - Hollywood, Europe, Everyone.

BS. They don’t. In fact, the Chinese are constantly releasing movies with their perspective on the west. It’s called wolf warrior diplomacy and they do it through the movies as well.
There’s nothing wrong with them showcasing their own opinions as long as they allow the other side to showcase their opinions. But that’s not what they are doing. They triy to silence the opposite while pushing forth with their own narrative

Really! wow!didn’t know that Disney and marvel are countries of their own.
I guess you live in the Marvel universe

Governments really need to start dealing with China and all their buyups and soft power moves, there is a reason they don't allow foreign companies to do the same thing in China. People and companies will always do what's in their own best economic interests, which is why there must be restrictions on a higher level.

exactly!
well said

But they do not try to silence others and that’s the difference. Everybody wants to express their own point of view. That is perfectly fine. What is not fine is what the Chinese communist party is doing. And that is to not only aggressively express their own opinions but also tried to silence other peoples opinions. The latter is some thing that Disney Marvel and the others do not to.
Strangerland
No, they can't match the far-right extremist cancel culture. They claim to hate it, then use their government to try to silence opinions they disagree with, which is actually much more egregious than the culture of cancel-culture, as it's straight up weaponization of government against opinions they disagree with, in attempt to silence freedom of speech.
Freedumb of Speech - just watch what you say.

What a mess.
Strangerland
The right-wingers.
Try saying 'Trump lost in 2020' or 'DiSantos don't say gay law is a failure' and watch how fast they cancel you.

Everyone does!! Its called sales and marketing!
No they don't! That's total BS! They go where they have a market! That's business. Its up to the government of each country what to allow in their country. NOT an entertainment company.
More unfounded comments made by you.
The CCP continues to THREATEN NOT to allow access to their market UNLESS certain things in certain productions are changed. Disney, Marvel, and others don't do that!
