Musk is an idiot who flips on his views and positions each day...

But even he knows a "bad investment" when he sees one - and as he has already turned down a groveling Trump begging for someone to guarantee his bond, he's unlikely to drop more change now...

And only in MAGA-world would you embrace and accept money from a guy that is the second leading producer of EVs in the world, which Trump has labeled a "hoax" and railed against, and the fact that Musk builds cars in China that he sends here - taking American jobs as Trump has clearly said...

But this is Trump and MAGA-world, so nothing really means anything as long as the cash gets exchanged....

The Washington Post revealed that Musk attended a breakfast for billionaires in Florida last month where the former president pitched a group of donors.

That provoked swift speculation -- but Musk said "it was just breakfast," and that nothing more came out of it.

Sounds like American Democracy in action, just a bunch of good old boy billionaires meeting for breakfast to decide the fate of a nation.

Also an additional reason while billionaires must be taxed at a highly progressive tax rate like during the Eisenhower admin.

Musk professes to have been inspired by Iain Banks, and absorbed his ideas, but none of his creativity and sense of right and wrong.

It is pretty clear how Musk and Trump are rolling around in the same sty.

Money aside, Musk's political inclinations give Trump a clear boost.

His presence on social media is often rife with unfounded conspiracy theories, disinformation and right-wing talking points that align with Trump, especially on immigration.

The right love Musk, but when Tesla stock starts to tank, they blame Biden.

In their minds, this makes them look intelligent.

I've never heard of a billionaire begging for money or an accused person so convinced of his own innocence continuously delaying his day in court. And what of his legions of supporters? Apparently, each of them just needs to donate the price of a haircut and his financial woes would be over, and he wouldn't even have to grovel for the money.

There needs to be total reform, a political funding law.

No matter how many times one reads this thread, party politics has poisoned government, the judicial system.

You must accept, sooner or later, their must be a clear transparent regulatory framework to the process how we elect our governments.

Can you not sense how this has become bent out of shape on just about every level.

I was 18 when first involved with researching, writing speeches, accounting economics, for politicians, heck I needed the money.

In-between loading biscuits, hob-nobs on plates, brewing the teas.

You are being taken for idiots/fools .

Remember  Baa, Baa, Black Sheep?

Have you any wool? / Yes, sir, yes, sir, / Three bags full"....

Is it now acceptable for billionaires, to be able to openly buy government?

No more pretence, that is where we are?

Since both look, to me, excessively obsessed by self-defined success, I have concluded they are extremely insecure. And now will they enter the "I scratch you back, you scratch mine" relationship as a therapy for feeling insecure? The problem is, their action is instigated mainly by their own mental state and maybe by the amount of money, and no consideration, whatsoever, is given to the society and world beyond themselves. The couple is just lethal in the process for selecting the responsible for governance of a nation.

Musk may be eccentric, but he isn't stupid. No money for Trump form him.
