Indeed. While the author waits until the end of her essay to mention the real reason that "My Body, My Choice" is no longer the rallying cry of those favoring abortion rights, but has been co-opted by freedom loving believers in self determination who oppose government mandated inoculations of experimental substances.

Again, another left-slanted opinion piece.

"Your body, my Choice ?"

Great body, Great Sex, accidents happen.

Again, another left-slanted opinion piece.

I suppose the word OPINION has 'some' folks stumped which is EASY to imagine given apparent mentality, albeit opinions flow from 'some' folks like sludge from a sewer main... I suppose every society has its Taliban and America no exception...

I find the article a bit confusing. Rights versus abilities; negative versus positive liberty?

Don't we generally accept that any freedom we have is subject to curtailment as soon as it affects others in a negative way? So not wearing masks or not getting vaccinated may be viewed as a danger to others. (I'm not saying people should be forced to do these things, just that it's understandable that others may want to restrict the actions of such people.)

Abortion divides opinion - it doesn't affect the rest of us, but many will point out that it affects the unborn child. It's a thorny topic, and I think it's reasonable to allow the woman to choose. As a man, I think I should keep well out of suggesting what women do with their bodies. The general approach of allowing abortion before fetal viability seems a reasonable compromise. I'd say the "my body, my choice" slogan is fairly clear in the context of abortion.

This Mississippi case is the reason the Democrats will not only NOT lose the US House or US Senate next year, but will gain seats. If the US Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade or makes significant cuts to it, such a flood of liberal money and causes will coalesce to win many seats in the elections four months following the decision next June, while the conservatives will sit on their hands thinking they have found their holy grail. If the Supreme Court upholds Roe v Wade and denies the Mississippi law, the conservatives will feel betrayed by their Trump Supreme Court picks and be dispirited and not see any point in voting any more.

Either way, it will result in the Democrats gaining seats and power after the November 2022 elections. This is not what the conservatives in Mississippi would want to occur, but they don't see it coming.

Conservative anti-vaxxers "no vaccines, my body, my choice".

First of all, it's not ONLY conservatives that don't want the vaccine. over 68% of blacks refuse to take it and they overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

But the two couldn't be more different. A person not wanting to take the vaccine has the choice and should have the choice because each person has a different tolerance of drugs, allergies, side-effects and what works well in one persons body might not work well in another person. Any person taking any powerful vaccine that has not been approved by the FDA should seek the best advice before getting any shot. They should always consult with their healthcare official and not the government, they never have your best care in interest.

Abortion: you are taking another individuals life, now if it is out of the reason due to incest, rape, the life of the mother, understandable situation, late term and up until birth where the child can physically breath on its own and now is subjected to being terminated is nowhere near a reasonable or viable solution, it is not a form of birth control, it is a full-term life that can be given away to a family that would love and care for it, there are always other options available.

"My body my choice" only for abortions, but not for injection with experimental mRNA substances. "Liberal" logic.

My stance tends to be "Stop telling women what to do" and "Mind your own business."

I agree with the above it were applied to men who do not want to pay child support when they do not desire to have a child, but the women go ahead and give birth anyways.

Those women should be free to decide whether to have the abortion or to give birth; whichever makes more economic sense for them, since they would be assuming the financial responsibility, correct?
