It is not set in gold yet. Congress can squash it and I hope they do.

12 countries just signed away their sovereignty.

The headline is dead right, for better or worse. Economically, many understandably have reasons to hate, politically, many who do not want to see China dominated world welcome this.

The consequence is there are 11countries in the TPP cannot bear the shocks of domestic market opening. Obama is viewing from his perspective of political rivarly instead a parmatic approach. But i think he dont cares about it.

The headline should reas "With free trade deal, Obama solidies the wealth of the US 0.01%"

Obama can claim a genuine diplomatic success

More corporate media grandstanding for the corporate President and the rest of the corporate dogs.

Like shonanbb said, it's far from over and certainly WAY TOO early to be calling it a success.

As this administration makes more trade agreements just keep in mind their history of promoting world trade at the expense of the American worker. I see most of the nations of this agreement are nations where the wage is far less than in the US. This can only lead to more job bleeding. These fools from the left want to bring America down a notch or two and they have succeeded. The secrecy surrounding the TPP doesn't bode well, nor does the track record on NAFTA.

Wealth inequality between countries has been decreasing and the share of the poorest humans is declining, thanks to trade.

Crazy Joe,

It's mostly the fools from the right plus Obama that have been pushing for and voting for the TPP. Just about every Republican front runner is for it. That's why it was able to pass.

That would make Obama the pivot man, wouldn't it?
