Obsessive compulsive disorder, perhaps?

I saw a special on TV about her art now. She was freehanding an large abstract piece and kept going over the lines to change the color. It was amazing watching her draw the piece but why she kept changing the colors was odd.

Er... that's art? Makes me wonder why I ever went to art school.

That's quite a publicity stunt! almost 4 decades strong... It must be a top-notch one, she can afford to call the shots (har!) I hope. But the security must be important to her. As well as not having to make her own brekkie of a morning.

I've actually always liked her art but some people have speculated that her voluntary institutionalization is more for publicity. Might or not be true, I can't say.

Perhaps the medical care, the option to live permanently in a psychiatric facility.

I wonder what made her return to Japan?
Perhaps she needed to leave, so that she could come back and live on her own terms? Restrictions don't suffocate once you've learnt you can ignore them.

Right up there with Michelangelo, Van Gogh and Picasso!
