For the first time in my twenty years here, I suddenly and wholeheartedly support the pixelisation of mucky movies.

Now if only Japan would end its silly censorship hypocrisy, the rest of the world might stop laughing at its otherwise interesting porn industry.

Some Japanese women around sixtyish can pass for many years younger. Does anyone else think this woman at 61 appears more like 71? Or am I just a bad judge of age?

A couple of months ago, one early evening, I was flipping through the channels and I came across the porn channels. There are like 3 of them and they tend to show a 5 minute preview before cutting off. One of the channels had a special for only Iike 500yen for 12 hours of viewing. I decided what the heck because nothing else was on TV. So as soon as I order, a show starts. The premise is a young guy approaching older ladies in their 60s while they are working in their gardens or rice fields. He nampas them and the next scene is him and the lady getting down. So I watch the first nampa and love scene then the next and that was about all I could handle. I mean it was admirable that these women were in their 60s and still getting down but these women are the same age as my mother. I checked the schedule, which I should have done in the first place, and the same "movie" was going to play until 6am. Then I understood why there was a sale on the channel that night.

The article mentions both age groups that this appeals to, but I've always assumed senior porn was mostly watched by young guys. Maybe that's changing now with an aging Japan. And I've also wondered what percentage of these women had previous experience with the sex industry at a young age.

So it comes down to a matter of survival. There wil always be a demand for younger attractive people. The older ones will get discarded by the side so they must make sure that they create a demand for them or else they will have nothing to fall back on.
