For anyone planning a trip to Okinawa, the Okinawa Island Guide 2011-2012 is a must. The 116-page glossy magazine is full of information about the island’s tourist and historical spots and also includes many feature stories about Okinawan food, culture, music, arts & crafts, a guide to healthy aging, plus area maps of Naha, Chatan, Okinawa City and other locations.

The guide comes with an enclosed Tourist Booklet with tips for sightseeing, hotels, festivals, food and drink listings, after dark area highlights and maps.

Whether it’s tips on driving to diving with whale sharks, the Okinawa Island Guide is perfect for both first-time visitors to Okinawa or veterans. The guide costs 1,500 yen and is available at most bookstores.

Okinawa is an amazing place filled with beautiful beaches, kind people, and delicious food! Their recent 5th Worldwide Uchinachu Festival showed the world many wonderful aspects of Okinawan culture. Thousands of Okinawans returned to celebrate their heritage. I can't think of another place where such a festival exists. Okinawa is delightful! Visitors will not be disappointed!

Okinawa is a beautiful place! Highly recommend it. The locals are brilliant, their food is fantastic. As long as you don't have the misfortune of meeting any of the American Marines based there, drunk out of their skulls causing trouble for everyone.
