Air France unveils new Business Class seat

Air France has unveiled its new long-haul Business Class seat which will be progressively rolled out on 12 Boeing 777-300s from September.

Each of the 12 aircraft will be equipped with 48 seats in Business class as well as the airline's latest Premium Economy Class (48 seats) and Economy Class (273 seats) seats.

Named “Fontainebleau”, the first aircraft equipped with the new cabins, which will also include WiFi, will fly to New York-JFK this autumn.

The design of Air France’s new Business Class seats is based on the 3 “F”s – Flat: meaning the seat transforms into a real bed almost two meters long; Full Access: providing all passengers direct access to the aisle; and Full Privacy: ensuring optimal privacy.

A new sliding door allows passengers to create a totally private space, out of sight from others in the cabin, while for those travelling together, the seats located in the center of the cabin are now equipped with a central panel that can be lowered by pressing it down, creating a convivial space in which to make the most of the flight together.

The seats also feature a wide 17.3-inch 4K High-Definition anti-glare screen with a noise-reducing headset, a new Bluetooth connection allowing passengers to use their own headphones and several electric sockets.

In the Premium Economy Class cabin, Air France is introducing its latest recliner-type seat model already available on its Airbus A350 aircraft.

Each seat offers 96 cm legroom and the seat cushions have been redesigned and a navy blue herringbone fabric used to add further softness.

The seat back reclines to 124 degrees and has been widened to provide greater privacy, while a new noise-reducing audio headset is integrated into the seat. The seat also features USB A and C ports.

In the Economy Class cabin, each seat has a 43 cm seat span, an 119 degree recline and 79 cm of legroom. The backrest is ergonomically designed, offering reinforced lateral support and is also equipped with an USB A port.

The seats in two Economy cabins are equipped with a 13.3-inch 4K High-Definition screen with Bluetooth connection.
