Free?! you have got to be jokeing. These costs are included in the price of the room. Nothing is free in Japan.

Many, many business hotels in Japan offer free breakfast and internet - why choose this one for your story?

Noborito is absolutely correct. Anytime you see "free" you can bet the cost has been added elsewhere

Wait... I thought that lots of hotels already include internet access as part of price of the room. Breakfast is the same.

Sometimes these articles sound like they are written by shills.

ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka, maybe this hotel has been left alone, at present Internet should be basic part of the service which makes the guest comfortable during their stay.

Maybe they mean the internet connected to the computer they usually have near the front desk. You know the 100 yen for 10 minutes units.

Probably because this isn't a story, it's an ad.

Free internet is hardly news; I think every business hotel I've stayed in in Japan the last few years has had free internet, and in some cases a free computer in the room.

Agreed - what a waste of space, and this is a limited-time offer? Most lower-end hotels already include both, most middle and upper already charge for it, and people that stay at such places can afford to have Y1000 tacked onto the bill for internet access.

other low-end but respectable business Hotels in Japan have standard internet connection at every room free of charge, then if you do not have a computer you can borrow for "free" a computer unit located in a room near the receptions. Also free Breakfast. But they do not advertise it.

ANA Crowne Plaza belongs to InterContinental Hotels Group....I can't imagine that the Internet usage is not free of charge, breakfast can be another story.

You know the funny thing about this. Subject to room availability (maybe 5 rooms) I`m sure they will be flooded with bookings.

I found 8800 yen single rooms at the ANA Crown Plaza Osaka. That compares with Toyoko Inn at around at 6090 yen. With the special offer, both have free breakfast and internet, so the better bargain depends on the room, service and the breakfast. Toyoko Inns are all the onigiri you can eat, coffee, miso etc. If Crown Plaza had a complete buffet breakfast, similar to the spread Hilton puts on, it might be worth the extra money.

Any business hotel I've ever stayed in offered at least free breakfast, with most offering free internet as well, and probably at 1/3 the cost at the very LEAST. In fact, a whole lot of youth hostels offer both for free at a 10th of the cost of the ANA Crowne. Finally, it's admitted that this is a 'limited offer', and in my opinion the costs are already included in the ridiculously inflated cost of a one night stay.

Guys, the ANA Crowne is not a business hotel and it's a bit silly to compare it to the Toyoko Inn, which is your bread-and-butter standard cut-rate smelly-sheets biz class Japanese hotel.

Having said that, the concept of FREE INTERNET!!! AND BREAKFAST!!! in today's economy is a bit like saying FREE AIR!!! AND WATER!!!
