ANA InterContinental Tokyo has been named as the Luxury City Hotel/Japan in the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2018. In addition, UNKAI – the hotel’s Japanese restaurant – has become the Global Winner of Japanese Cuisine for the second consecutive year, as well as being honored, for the first time, as the East Asian Regional Winner in the Luxury Hotel Restaurant category in the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2018.
Established in 2006, the World Luxury Hotel Awards is a recognized global organization providing luxury hotels with recognition for their world class facilities and service excellence provided to guests. Meanwhile, the World Luxury Restaurant Awards was set up to inspire excellence and ignite healthy competition within the luxury restaurant industry. The aim is to highlight the special features of upscale restaurants, thereby increasing competition, attracting food experts, journalists, gourmands and a whole host of visitors from around the globe; ultimately raising the level of food quality and standards of service within the industry.
ANA InterContinental Tokyo has 844 guestrooms, 12 restaurants & bars and 22 event spaces. UNKAI Japanese Restaurant also has a 32-year story that goes back to the establishment of the hotel (the former ANA Hotel Tokyo) in 1986. The restaurant offers traditional kaiseki style Japanese cuisine enriched with sophisticated details including tableware, ingredients, presentation and flavorsome delights.
Upon receiving the awards, Michel Chertouh, General Manager of ANA InterContinental Tokyo said, “We are thrilled and truly honored to receive these three awards, and we will strive to continue serving the very best in hospitality and Japanese cuisine while inspiring all of our customers from around the world to succumb to the pleasure and joy of staying with us. I’m also very proud of our staff; these awards are testament to their commitment, hard work and excellent service.”
