ANA partners with JR Kyushu to promote regional tourism

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is working with Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) to help domestic and international travelers experience the vibrant Kyushu region. The effort to make Kyushu more accessible is part of the Japanese government's tourism strategy that aims to publicize destinations outside of already well-known tourism hot spots.

"ANA strives to make sure that it is as convenient as possible for travelers to reach destinations across the entire country," said Seiichi Takahashi, Senior Vice President of ANA. "Kyushu is celebrated for its natural beauty, unique cuisine and distinct culture, all of which deserved to be experienced by global and domestic travelers alike. ANA believes that service and hospitality are integral to our mission, and that taking care of passengers after they have touched down is just as important as their in-flight experience."

"Through this partnership with ANA, JR Kyushu aims to welcome tourists from all around the world as they come to Kyushu and to allow them to enjoy the scenic rail travel that can only be experienced in Kyushu," said Tomonori Uwabu, Executive Officer of JR Kyushu. "We hope that visitors will enjoy Kyushu and that we can make their journey more convenient."

ANA's Japan Travel Planner recently launched a special tourism page providing an overview of Kyushu's top attractions as well as a guide for reaching them by rail. The Japan Travel Planner is a multilingual tourist information website appealing to seasoned travelers and first time visitors alike, helping international tourists understand Japan while making it easy for them to plan their trip. It is an effective tool for helping tourists navigate Japan and aims to simplify the travel experience.

In addition, several cities in Kyushu are hosting the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and ANA has partnered with JR Kyushu to offer limited edition rail tickets for inbound tourists that have taken flights from Tokyo to the Kyushu cities of Fukuoka, Oita and Kumamoto. Eligible passengers will be able to purchase passes that offer unlimited rail travel around Kyushu. The sales period for these limited edition rail passes will run until Oct 31, and the exchange period will be open until Nov 30. A three day pass costs 7,500 Japanese yen while a five day pass can be purchased for 9,000 Japanese Yen.
