the Trump administration has resisted making masks mandatory for travelers... The Federal Aviation Administration has declined to require masks, passing over requests by airline labor groups and some Democratic lawmakers.

Pretty weak. Lawmakers and industry authorities are supposed to look out for their citizens and customers. The way things are going, Americans are not going to get the chance to travel to most places in the world for a long, long time, especially with so many people also resisting the idea of a vaccine.

Hopefully a mandatory mask requirement on planes is something that the Dems will bring in if and when they get into power.

Aside from how stupid this is for health, it will also kill the airlines, which already have enough trouble.

As I heard one expert put it, "Masks are to Covid-19 what condoms are to HIV."

In other words, masks, social distancing, and sanitizing are very important. Since the airlines are not implementing common-sense policies, they have become super-spreader events in their own right.
