Celebrate festive season at The Peninsula Tokyo

During the festive season, The Peninsula Tokyo is extending a warm invitation to all to rediscover time-honored family traditions.

To fully embrace the holiday spirit of caring and connection, guests can also take part in The Peninsula Hotels’ long-standing corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives that support youth in need during this season of giving.

Stories from the tree

In keeping with tradition, each of the 10 Peninsula hotels around the world will illuminate a splendidly decorated Christmas tree in its grand lobby. This dazzling display will be the focal point for “Stories from the Tree,” a Peninsula tradition since 2018. Six colorful characters, including the Nutcracker, Gingerbread Man, Robin, and Reindeer, will adorn the Christmas trees and festive decorations in each hotel lobby. Digital Storybook Each year, a different “Stories from the Tree” character is highlighted with a specially written children’s story.

This year, the protagonist of the story, The Robin’s Journey, is the red-breasted Robin, who travels around the world to experience a variety of holiday adventures that epitomize the spirit of kindness and giving. The story will be available as a complimentary e-book download on peninsula.com starting in November – along with previous years’ stories, "The Gingerbread Man’s Tale" and "The Nutcracker’s Adventure."

A Season of Giving

As well as a time for celebration with loved ones, the holidays are a time of sharing and generosity. In that spirit, The Peninsula Hotel is continuing its custom of reaching out to those who are less fortunate. At each property, ornaments featuring the Robin character from “Stories from the Tree” will be available for purchase; at The Peninsula Tokyo, 500 yen from each ornament purchase will be donated to the Japan School Library Association. In addition, 500 yen will be donated to the same charity from each sale of a Festive Afternoon Tea at The Lobby. The menu for this special Afternoon Tea includes six savory delicacies and six delightful sweets (some incorporating the Robin character), which can be enjoyed with homemade scones and a selection of Peninsula original teas.

The Peninsula Tokyo’s adorable and much-loved Peninsula mascots, Peter The Bear and Penny The Bear, will make special appearances to meet guests during December. The two life-sized fluffy friends will charm families and young guests, and ensure memorable moments during their visits to the Christmas Market outside at the Naka Dori Cafe from Dec 1 to 25, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Celebrating togetherness in these challenging times, celebrating the holidays with friends and family feels especially meaningful – and The Peninsula Hotels’ enchanting, time-honored festive traditions allow guests to truly savor the season and create precious memories together. The plethora of delights includes delectable festive menus, celebratory cocktails, special confectionery, and signature festive hampers. All of these are offered in an environment that lets guests relax and reconnect for the holidays, safely and joyfully. Just inside The Peninsula Tokyo’s Nakadori Avenue entrance, Naka Dori Cafe will host an enchanting Christmas Market during the festive season. Here, guests can browse among holiday treats from all over the world, including nougat from Italy, mince pie from England, potica from Slovenia, maamoul from the Middle East, and more.
