This has been proved repeatedly in both my and your own sources, which is why you stopped bringing any, all the sites that count cases and deaths can be used to demonstrate what is quoted without any problem. Once again, outbreaks with much higher case and death numbers have happened in China during zero covid policy.

I mean, compared with their 1000 deaths Hong Kong surpassed 9,000. It is quite obvious who is doing a worse job controlling the pandemic.

Very simple math--zero covid policy keep the infection rate and related death rate the lowest possible.

Closing completely is not.

Economic problems are a secondary damage from China's retrograde and antiscientific approach compared with the loss of lives it is causing with the policy, but it is still important nonetheless. But going all the way to eliminate all measures is equally invalid.

Testing and a limited form of quarantines for unvaccinated people is still regarded as necessary because the pandemic is still ongoing and the possibility of variants is there. Closing completely is not.

Time for an authoritarian regime to rule and force vaccination on those (mostly elderly citizens) whose' mistrust of vaccines is affecting the future of the country and the livelihood of the young.
