Just bring your own food...

If they make the flight cheaper for sparing me the airline food, I´d go for it in a second. On any flight.

free food

Aren't they ashamed of calling it 'free' food? Doesn't our ticket cover the food they were giving?

Likewise, some bring their own food on flights to avoid paying for meals.

Doesn't it sound like trouble brining your own food to flight with all the beefed up security?

With the harsh competition, removing what was included in your plane tickets is their solution. By paying for the blankets, peanuts, drinks, etc you'll finally pay more then profits for them. Play the competition.

Who needs a blanket and pillow flying stateside or food for that matter. Flights are so close. Now Japan to the East Coast is a really long hall, so glad they are not messing with the amenities there yet.

So Aeroflot was just ahead of its time.

How does this affect us in Japan again? This is for US domestic flights and some flights to other areas, not to Japan.

I don't see the big deal anyway - bring a sandwich, it will probably taste better.

I like the way the choice of headline can really change the slant on a story. Other sources had this reading "Continental Ends Free Food on Most Flights", a less positive spin on exactly the same content.

Since Continental do flights to Guam, which is only 3hours 40minutes, this article is relevant. However, I couldn't confirm if those flights are Continental themselves or a code-share....

That should have been, from Tokyo to Guam....

Man, the great leader should punish those cheap bastards. Food must be covered by the expensive fee they are charging me every time. Oh great leader please help us.

I always bring loads of onigiri on the plane anyways. Drinks on the other hand would be pricey. Then again, I salivate enough with female flight attendants around.

I am sure you can take your own food...until somebody puts some plastique in there! The limits on water and other drinks already burn me!

Spike, I read a different article that said only US domestic routes, Mexico resort routes and some Caribbean destinations would be affected. I think the Tokyo-Guam route is operated by Continental Micronesia, which is a subsidiary.

They'd have to pay me to eat their food.
