Good to hear someone made a sensible decision.

We are taking a cruise to Alaska out of Washington soon. The cruise line is not allowing any non-vaccinated passengers or employees onto the ship. Since the vaccines are not yet approved for those under 12, it has been announced that children will not be allowed to participate in the cruise until some time in 2022. The Democratic governor of that state is cool with letting the cruise lines take those precautions. The cruise lines wanted to do the same for trips out of Florida, but the Republican governor told them that they were not allowed to take those precautions, based on reasoning that only he seems to understand.

Why not let the scientists and the cruise lines do what is best for everyone, and keep the politicians out of it?

Also now we know people who've been vaccinated can get reinfected while those with natural immunity as a rule don't:

The number of people who have had two or more Covid infections before the vaccines were available disproves your claim. I know health care workers who have had multiple Covid infections.

Blocking unvaccinated people from going on cruises doesn't make sense when the coronavirus just as easily spreads amongst the vaccinated: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57830617

Your link fails to prove what you are concluding, it has been demonstrated that vaccination reduces the rates of transmission so even if it is still possible it is not "as easily" as you mistakenly say.

Also now we know people who've been vaccinated can get reinfected while those with natural immunity as a rule don't: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/309762

Again your link do not provide information that allows that conclusion, it doesn't say if the people that were infected were later vaccinated, it does not say if those vaccinated are more or less exposed to the infection, it doesn't even say if the testing was done differently. For example vaccinated people in jobs where they enter in close contact with the public can be tested regularly, which would make it much more easy to detect completely asymptomatic infections. Specially since the total number of infections is still a very small portion of what it was before vaccination and because by now most of the people are already vaccinated, if you have 1000 vaccinated people and 50 unvaccinated ones it would be natural to expect infections to be detected more in vaccinated people, if only because of the big differences in numbers.

https://yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/p/israel-50-of-infected-are-vaccinated

So if there was a coronavirus 'outbreak' on a cruise the vaccinated would be more at risk. Stop being vaccist, it doesn't make any sense at all now

As proved that is not a valid conclusion just a personal opinion based on information presented in a misleading way. Vaccinated people get infected less, transmit less their infections and more importantly even when infected they get a much milder disease than not vaccinated people.

@1glenn, I wish I could join you from Victoria, but the ships aren't stopping here, yet. And I've had two shots.

We were hoping the ship would stop in Canada, but it is not to be. We enjoyed our stop in Victoria, last time. A beautiful city.
