Situated in the heart of Sapporo is Sapporo Satoland, an agriculture-themed park where you can experience animals, nature and outdoor fun all at once. Covering approximately 180 hectares, equivalent to 14 Sapporo domes, this family-friendly attraction is designed to educate and entertain, showcasing the various aspects of Hokkaido’s rural life and agricultural practices. It is a unique destination for both locals and tourists seeking a taste of rural life amid urban surroundings.

We went in 2022 and found it a little disappointing I’m afraid.

I usually find that what you see in the photos is actually all there is to see. And the publicity photos themselves are framed to include the only real shot you can take - a few degrees to the left or right and there is some eyesore in the picture. So, in this case, if you are enthralled by a little train in front of the quarter-acre of lavender, with a park behind, and some tomatoes growing then it will be perfect for you.

If all I can see is what is in the photo for me to see, I'd go there to see that. Large amounts or small amounts of actually viewing nature is something I like.

I think the location is okay to just get connected to nature and wind down. You dont necessarily need many attractions to check out and for entertainment at places like these. Just having a snack under the tree may very well be satisfying for a calm relaxing day. And those surroundings are perfect for artists.
