Yeah, the quarantine upon return to Japan is a real buzzkill if you want to travel overseas. I am hoping it gets reduced or eliminated by the end of the year...

My advice don't go!! The infrastructure is not back. Once you arrive will be waiting inline at the for hotels, the service is crap because alot of the workers were let go due to the pandemic, car rentals are expensive, and the restaurant staff is short and you will be waiting in line for a long time to get a meal. My advice again don't go!! Its easy to get there but to enjoy its not all that!

To avoid a 10-day quarantine upon arrival, travelers must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their departure for Hawaii.

Then when back, they need to show proof of vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their departure for Japan, take another test ok arrival in Japan, and only then they can finally do…10 days of quarantine !

Best not to travel to Hawaii until they get their act together better.
