Hilton Tokyo and Dom Perignon will open Japan’s first Dom Perignon Lounge in the hotel’s St George’s Bar on Sept 1. Displaying a series of sensual artworks created by world-renowned fashion designers Karl Lagerfeld and Amanda Harlech, the newly launched lounge aims to envelop guests in the world of Dom Perignon, enchanting customers visually as they enjoy some of the world’s best champagnes.

The lounge will offer Dom Perignon 2000 by the glass and Dom Perignon Enoteque 1995 and Dom Perignon Rose 1998 by the bottle.

All guests who order Dom Perignon 2000 by the bottle are eligible to become members of the Dom Perignon Club.

As members experience more bottles of this superb champagne, so the privileges of membership widen, to include a complimentary stay in a Hilton Tokyo Deluxe Floor Junior Suite with, of course, a bottle of Dom Perignon 2000 from room service.

Dom Perignon 2000 will be priced from 3,900 yen per glass or 29,000 yen per bottle. Dom Perignon Enoteque 1995 will be 68,000 yen a bottle and Dom Perignon Rose 1998 is 96,600 yen per bottle.

3,900 for a glass of champagne?

For 900 yen less than that I can eat all the yakiniku and drink all the beer I want for 90 minutes.

Japan apparently still has plenty of rich snobs who bore easily and are constantly seeking new places to squander their wealth.

Making love to a beautiful women often involves some expense. Fine dining with the freshest food prepared by award winning chefs, followed by a sophisticated lounge bar will always win the day. My advice is to entertain those you respect most at this lounge.....or a particularly pretty sure thing.

Whoa, I got given a bottle of this stuff last week. 3,900 yen a glass, you say?

Timeon - if it was really the Rose, you were tricked. Even at a cheap store, a Rose should cost 3 times that.
