I have no plans to return to Hong Kong now that Beijing has forced their broken politics onto the SAR 35+ yrs in advance of the signed agreement. Beijing is full of liars. That's what the world learned the last 20+ yrs.

Perhaps their lies were always bad and I didn't notice it until Xi was inserted to power. Hard to say.

I guess, they really don’t need your few pocket money yen or dollars, but what you bring with you in return, the data, passwords or links to your company from your smartphones, tablets or internet usage, project documents in your tablet computers or luggage or simply some drunken talking at the hotel bars etc there while in HK , that’s all of potential high value and with only a little luck exceeding the cost for those free giveaway tickets quite a multiple times.

I went to HK late last year. So thankful there was no more violence. The MTR was back to its usual cleanliness and efficiency never seen in places like NYC subways.

HK was always on my list of places to visit, but the government crackdowns that led to the protests broke my heart. Not sure I could support that place anymore.

The only thing that would make me to ever visit HK again would be a party celebrating its return to the UK.

Well you're not a HKer so that's not your business. Maybe some people would love to visit Hawaii when it regains independence.
