Yuck!! Their greed for profits means their hotel rooms will be disgusting. Screw you guests, we want more money!

Anyone with an ounce of dignity will not set foot in there.

What a great idea! Less sanitizing during a pandemic! This will end well!

Not.

My nephew visited New York pre covid and checked into a filthy room, the hotel being part of a well known chain, and on examining the bed he saw bed bugs. The staff told him to take it or leave it. He left.

I would have left as well. NYC is notorious for bed bugs.

I expect hotels to clean my room daily. If they aren’t doing that they aren’t getting my custom. My nephew visited New York pre covid and checked into a filthy room, the hotel being part of a well known chain, and on examining the bed he saw bed bugs. The staff told him to take it or leave it. He left.

The hotels are out of control!! Try Las Vegas before all of the reconstruction of the strip you could get a very good meal for about $6.00 fast forward that will not pay for a breakfast. Before you could go to Las Vegas and part anywhere now all of the hotels have valet service or they charge you $25/day for parking regardless. They have also started what is called a resort fee and a administration fee. What this does is the money they make from all the parking pays for the valet parking attendants and the daily resort fee pays for the resort fee. With that said the cost of the room is all profit because the resort and parking fees pay for all of the custodial and maintenance cost. What a rip off!!! Five star hotels in my opinion on the strip has become less affordable with the least amount of service. Vegas should be called Lost Wages!!! I don't go there anymore!!

I see two problems for the hotel owners and operators. One, while they may be saving money on cleaning staff, they are going to lose money based on more rapid deterioration of the furnishings & fixtures. Two, they risk going into a downward spiral from attracting the less responsible guests. I used to stay in a hotels a lot but now stay mostly in AirBnB properties. There, the Guests are reviewing the Owners and the Owners are reviewing the Guests. If you trash the place you stay, an Owner may call that out and hurt your ability to be accepted for future bookings you request. The people who are going to leave a mess behind are going to learn to stay in hotels, which will further contribute to their deteriorating faster.
