Japan Airlines (JAL) is offering a new domestic fare - "oneworld® YOKOSO/Visit KYUSHU Fare" for overseas visitors in order to stimulate travel demand from overseas to the Kyushu region.
JAL said it hopes the new fare will help invigorate the local economy by attracting more overseas travelers to visit Kyushu through its enhanced domestic network.
The new fare will be 5,400 yen for one sector which is half the price of the airline's existing "oneworld Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare."
This new special fare is available for domestic routes between Tokyo (Haneda/Narita) or Osaka (Itami) and the Kyushu region including Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, Oita, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.

I'm guessing that one would have to present an overseas airline ticket to take advantage of this. Shame, as I'd love to visit Kyushu on the cheap.

At least for the similar arraignment for Hokkaido flights, only a foreign passport is needed.

SWEET!! i went to Fukuoka and Nagasaki on my very first trip to japan last year and would LOVE to go back, as it was my favorite part of the trip!!
I was based in Tokyo and flew Skymark for $100 coming from Hakata and took advantage of my JR Pass to get there from Tokyo.
