MSC Cruises launches two-for-one promotion

MSC Cruises has launched a special two-for-one promotion, enabling two international adventurers to see the best of the Mediterranean on several breathtaking routes, for the price of one.

After its maiden voyage this December, the MSC Fantasia’s grandeur is on display during the Western Mediterranean 11-night journey, departing and returning to Genoa, Italy. The itinerary includes some of the most exciting and intriguing ports of call in Europe. Explore the magical cities of Barcelona and Gibraltar, the historic town of Funchal, Portugual, then enjoy the beauty of Tenerife and Arrecife in the Canary Islands. Continue on to the quintessentially Spanish city of Malaga before docking in Civitavecchia, Italy for some incredible Italian fare before returning back to Genoa. Cruises under the promotion depart Friday, Jan 16, or Tuesday Jan 27.

On another luxury cruise ship, in the company’s true Italian style, the MSC Poesia is poised to provide those intrigued by the heritage and history of Greece and Egypt with a stunning way to explore these cultures for 12 days and 11 nights. Departing on Jan 20 from Genoa, Italy, guests will discover Ajaccio, the capital city of Corsica and Napoleon Bonaparte’s home town. Messina will surprise with its lively culture, while the picturesque Isle of Rhodes is stunning in its beauty. Next, visit the famed site of Egyptian archaeology in Alexandria, followed by art and culture from over the ages in La Valletta. The beachside town of La Goulette – the port of Tunis – is a breathtaking site, and the Italian cities of Naples and the final port of call, Genoa, are once-in-a-lifetime experiences not to be missed.

MSC Cruises’ sophisticated on-board activities and facilities include mini golf course, fitness centre, spa and massage facilities, sauna rooms, jogging areas, swimming pools, Jacuzzi, video games center, theater, salon, Internet cafes, restaurants, disco, casino, shopping arcade, children’s club and Wi-Fi facilities.

The newest addition to MSC’s fleet – MSC Fantasia – adds panache and exclusivity to the experience with the Yacht Club, an ultra-deluxe private section of the ship with personalized service and one-of-a-kind offerings.

I completely understand zaichik's concerns, but being over pessimistic about a ship cruise is like going to Disneyland and complaining that it is too crowded, too cute. If you know that you don't like it, don't go there but don't ruin it for all of the millions of others who will actually love such a once in a life time vacation.

Up until the point that a norovirus rampages through all the passengers, irrespective of whether they are in the ultra-deluxe class or not. Sudden storms and boring/irritating travelling companions can also not be avoided by paying a premium for "ultra-deluxe".

And then, if you come down with an illness that's too complicated for the ship's doctor to treat, they ditch you in some backwater and let your travel insurance company try to work out how to bring you back (assuming your condition isn't pre-existing).

Nope, you can count me out of a cruise. Actually, working in travel assistance has almost put me off ever wanting to travel again :-)

T'would make a nice prize for the Somali pirates!! Will the Imperial Navy be escorting the cream of Japan as the cruise past Africa.
