It's not Omicron that is putting people off flying, it is quarantines and restrictions on movement on arrival. There are plenty of people who are fully vaxxed or who have had Covid who would fly if they were not going to be locked up on arrival in a country filled with untested people, despite having tested negative before flying.

Speak for yourself please. I won't even fly domestically. No post landing quarantines involved for a domestic flight. I just don't want to sit next to anybody in an enclosed space as long as there is a pandemic going on.

Waste of energy, polluting atmosphere for no good reason..

The rules for arriving air passengers make no sense in a pandemic, when the virus is on both sides of all borders. Arriving passengers are much less likely to have Covid than the dozen locals standing closest to you at any given time, as they are unlikely to have been tested.
