Guests also stay and contribute to Japan. This hotel is heard as one of upscale hotels. Can I stay there for a trip?

Marketing at it's worst, this hotel shutdown after the earthquake, only open up up 2 weeks ago, all the staff and management ran out of Japan and gave NO support to Japan. Now with no guests they need to do some marketing to get customers... way to cash in on a disaster!

5 percent donation? Seriously? 24,000 yen goes to the hotel and 1,200 goes to the charity?

gogogo - 5 percent donation? Seriously? 24,000 yen goes to the hotel and 1,200 goes to the charity?

10 percent of the room. 5 percent of the dinner and 5 percent of the spa treatment.

How much of your income have you donated?

I hadn't herad that the Shangrila had re-opened. I knew they closed down right after March 11th as their top gaijin management opted to evacuate immediately, I understand.

Good of them to try to do something positive now for their image, if they can.
