This is the only reason I will be getting vaccinated! I would rather not but if to travel you are forced to then so be it...Sadly!

I've always thought so too. But why are Japanese tourists allowed in the same immigration line as locals at UK airports and why do they not need to have their fingerprints and photos taken?

Reciprocity is key. If Japan continues to ban every county to enter, they should expect the same arrangement.

"Seems like a reasonable method. Slightly surprised that Japan isn't included with most of that population vaccinated now."
I was wondering the same since Japan's fully vaccinated rate (67.70%) is higher than the U.S. (56.28%), Britain (66.53%), France (67.23%), and the Netherlands (67.58%). There are quite a few Japanese companies based in Singapore as well.

Yes vaccine plus numerous tests. Good start. Japan not included at its own choice. But my guess isnthat it soon will be as so many Japanese living in Singapore n

Singapore is leaving rival HK in the dust. Apart from the recent political fallout, the extreme quarantine measures in HK really are making lots of businesses and individuals contemplating their future there. This zero-covid approach really isn't sustainable, unless you're on your toes every second and close the borders permanently. People are forced to pay for their own hotel accommodation for 2-3 weeks. And there have been no exemptions for expired permanent residency. While HK started well with vaccinations there are still a large percentage hesitating and that is also preventing HK from opening up.
