Thai AirAsia X (flight code XJ) has confirmed that it will transfer operations from Don Mueang Airport (DMK) in Bangkok to Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) in Bang Phli District of Samut Prakan province.

The airline is also planning to resume operations in June with flights from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) to Seoul (ICN) and Tokyo Narita (NRT).

Thai AirAsia X will operate the thrice weekly flights to Seoul on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays commencing June 1, while flights to Tokyo Narita will take place four times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, commencing June 5.

“As international borders are now gradually reopening, we are excited to be of service again to our guests and they can now prepare to fly to some of the most popular international destinations and as always, at the best value fares,” said Patima Jeerapaet, CEO of Thai AirAsia X. “This is an incredible milestone. With Thailand officially reopening and the COVID19 situation now under control thanks to widespread vaccination, we are thrilled that Thai AirAsia X is finally returning to the skies commencing with two routes to the much anticipated destinations, namely Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo Narita, Japan both departing from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Thailand. Travellers will be able to fly on these very popular routes by complying with the requirements without needing to quarantine, which creates a wonderful opportunity for tourism-led economic rebound for these three nations.”

Thai AirAsia X is the first Thai low cost long haul carriers to operate from Bangkok's main international gateway, Suvarnabhumi, a move which is also expected to enhance the company's cargo business.
