Just my opinion, and it depends on your purpose, but best months for traveling NZ by road and having a relaxing time are from February through April. And if you’re using a camper van (or anything else, just them and cyclists seem to be the focus of a lot of road animosity) , please drive carefully. NZ drivers can be very impatient and very aggressive drivers.

Give way to the RIGHT..

Putting hazard lights on does not give to the right to STOP ANYWHERE you like.

And roundabouts - indicate left at the exit before you are exiting otherwise indicate as if it’s straight road. So much debate about what is correct but it really isn’t difficult and if people use them correctly they are incredibly efficient for traffic control.
