Vietnam Airlines has resumed flights between Da Nang and Tokyo Narita, Japan.

The airline will operate the Da Nang - Tokyo Narita service with 4 flights per week every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Flight VN318 is scheduled to depart from Da Nang (DAD) at 00:05 and arrive at Tokyo Narita (NRT) airport at 07:25.

The return leg, flight VN319, is slated to leave Tokyo Narita at 10:30, arriving back in Da Nang at 14:25.

The carrier plans to gradually increase the frequency of flights to meet demand, with daily flights expected to take off from July 1.

The year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam.

The airline has resumed all routes to destinations in Japan, including between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) and Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka; and now also between Da Nang and Tokyo.

Japan is the largest market and one of the most important sources of visitor arrivals for Vietnam Airlines, with more than 1.6 million passengers transported in 2019, while Da Nang – Tokyo route reached nearly 200,000 passengers during that year.

Horrific lineups and and waiting when I flew with them in January. I arrived at the airport 2 1/2 hours before departure but had to sprint to the gate and was among last to board. Passengers from 4 or 5 flights in one extremely long queue at their check in counter. Ridiculous. I hope they've got their act together since then.

Then arrived at Narita, where the understaffed re-entry counter kept me waiting in line for around 40 minutes, while the Japanese citizens counters were fully staffed by immigration officials who had nothing to do after 10 minutes after they let the Japanese passengers basically walk right thru.

Why are people who work at airlines and airports so stupid?
