Few artists inspire people all over the world to dress up and perform passionately on stage like Elvis Presley, even 40 years after his death. What was it about Elvis that inspires tribute artists around the globe to perform in his name after all this time?

The lure of easy money perhaps.

Many truly great records.
Wearing the jump suits is fun.
He had an excellent voice most men can replicate badly - a voice like say, Roy Orbison's, is much more difficult to even attempt.
He's Elvis.

First... Elvis had an Amazing voice... unmistakable. Second, the guy was Great Looking! Every guy wanted to look like him and women wanted him. Third, he became famous through records and movies all over the world... rich too. If you watch documentaries, all the Brit groups of the 60's cited Elvis as a major influence. Also, if you ask Black performers from that era... they all highly respected Elvis and even copied him. He had it all in spades... Elvis will be copied for a long, long time to come.

Elvis. The Sun Studio sessions. Post army Elvis. 70's Elvis; Gospel, Memphis, Country.
A great shining star. A supernova. A modern day messiah of music.

I don't know but I wish they would stop! Elvis I like, the naff imitators not so much.
