When you have seen as many PMs as I have, you learn to expect little real change. The system is designed to turn out hereditary functionaries and mostly rewards time servers beyond that. Inspiration is not a word known in Japanese politics. But maybe the LDP cheer squad can have the courage of their convictions and reveal how it is not as I say or how things will be different. I don't expect much there either.

I don't expect there to be any change. He'll do what his American handlers tell him to. Just another puppet. Yawn.

no expectations at all.

all will remain same.a lot of empty talk but maybe less travel than Kishida?

Two years tops. Unless war with China breaks out in his watch (or, conversely, a break from the U.S.), he’ll be remembered for little. Accomplishing nothing of significant note isa virtue among Japanese prime ministers…which is exactly why Ishiba was chosen.

Based on the last three PMs in office?

Ishiba's run will include, but not limited to:

Some kind of scandal. (probably multiple ones)

Some embezzling. (probably multiple times)

A lot of talk and no progressive action.

Some kind of raise or undeserved bonus involved for members of the Diet, and not the general public.

And outdated ideas and solutions will be implemented throughout the campaign as well.

6 comments, nobody expects much, yet, surprisingly they get a majority of downvotes. Presumably that means there are supporters of Ishiba. I wish they would come out from their hiding places and show us the error of our thinking.

Will do ... nothing, that's why China loves him.

Different face; same policies and mentality. Nothing'll change.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I wish him all the best.

Ishiba will undoubtedly promulgate policies that engender economic prosperity, social cohesion, and international cooperation through his erudite intellect, a perspicacious eye for emerging trends, and an indomitable spirit to navigate the vicissitudes of yeah I have no idea what I'm talking about, got you!

To all the downvoters, please state your comments on the topic given at hand. I'm not here to put down Ishiba-san as I don't know enough about him and his ability to lead the country. Please redact my last comment as I was merely joking.

I would like to know more on your opinions on the subject as this section is open for discussion. I'm genuinely curious to know more about our new leader and what sort of strategies he has for our country since this affects how I live from here on out.
