Online, most things including the groceries.

In person, shoes and anything where the fit is important so I can try untill I get the fit I want (e.g. a shot gun), high value items where I want to interact with them before I buy like cars or boats.

In person - clothing, shoes etc where I need to check the fit. Fresh fruit and veg, to check the quality. Other daily items that are cheaper in the local shops or that I need/want now, not in two or three days' time.

On line - groceries/staples that are cheaper on line or not available in the local shops, and freshness isn't a concern. Heavy bags of dog food (also cheaper on line). Cosmetics and toiletries, coz my favourite brand doesn't have a shop in cycling distance (though I will pop into a shop I come across away from home, to check out new colours/fragrances in person)

Paying by credit card on line collects more points, so if an item is the same price it's cheaper to buy on line.

Since I don't have a CC not much online, mostly large food Items(30kg genmai, 3kg Lentils/chickpeas, etc). Also buy kitchen appliances and goods that are not available in stores, like my electric kitchen slicer.

Apart from that I have way too much fun to shop in person. ;)

I rarely shop online. I like to look at what I'm purchasing.
