I guess there might be one somewhere but in general we are ill-served by the vast majority and the machinery that elevates them. Certainly no one inspires. The world is crying out for inspiring leadership and we have intellectual and moral midgets.
probably former South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. Moon took the opposite direction when it comes to dealing with North Korea and IMO, handled the COVID-19 situation very well in the country during the early months of 2020. Meanwhile, Tsai just inspires because she doesn't bow down to Uncle Xi's muscle flexing. Oh, and of course, volodymyr zelensky. His political track record before the invasion might be questionable, but he really came through when things went south. I mean, we can probably agree that most heads of state might have taken the first flight out of Ukraine along with some of the country's wealth if they were in zelensky's position.
Maybe Selensky, as he managed to activate and so far keeping active for many months most of the free world , especially other countries’ political, military and economic leaders and the press or other media, to support him in the fight against very big and at least in theory just overwhelming aggressive attacking two big neighbors. That’s quite a difficult 24-hour job, regarding that of course everyone else has plenty of own problem catalogs too. You don’t even have to take side, but in my opinion everyone surely could easily admit that he does a great job trying to defend his military underdog country and collecting support in the violent and destructive conflict his country faces.
We sure could use the leadership and moral clarity of Merkel about now.
I will settle for Zelenski. Write him off as a comedian all one wants (My party made that mistake with Regan.), the man is a leader and inspires people. He also leads. He doesn't hide behind an absurdly long desk.
Honorable mention to Joe for doing what Obama should have done in 2014.
I like Obama on the whole, but his dithering in Syria and again with the Moscow Midget over Crimea are stains upon his record.
He could have taken the ride, be enjoying a beer on the beach now in his tropical haven of choice. Instead he has worked unstintingly to protect country, inspire his countrymen and women, and urge allies to help.
If the criterion were to be who is doing best for their People, President Xi takes the laurel and leaves All Western 'leaders' (see: führer) far behind in their efforts to drag their people into debt, war, and Death for the benefit of their rich patrons.
Gimme a break. The policy of that former East German communist toward Moscow was for the West to embrace it, ie, become more dependent on its energy and other critical resources, which in turn emboldened Putin and his henchmen.
Merkel remains a big backer of Nord Stream, and thus largely responsible for western Europe's current energy/inflation woes. She's close to last on my list.

I also respect Putin, more than any other world leader. Zelensky, Scholz, Macron, Trudeau and Biden the least...

Victor Orban in Hungary is currently the best example of a true leader the world has.
He gets it.

Zelensky by a mile.

Winnie the Po... Ha! Just kidding.
Canadian PM and Ukraine's president.

None of them. Zelensky hasn't touched Putin or the Russian government, allowing his country to be trashed: That's weak.
Merkel was OK but the reliance on Russian energy was a gamble that didn't pay off.

Probably the ones I have never heard of - i.e. those doing least harm. Denmark, Chile, Papua New Guinea, Cameroon.

Wow! There are actually people who upvoted those who allegedly (ie are not trolling) respect Putin the most. I guess they are all mindwashed Russians.
