History; when i was younger it was black and white telly but i am yet to have dreams in black and white. My dreams have no relevence with my daily life as far as i can work out.
Dreams are a reflection of your subconscious mind. When your eyes are closed your subconscious mind door opens and the show is on..in very different form, more symbolic and emotion and you are there watching with no control over your emotion. Yes, sometimes it reflect your moments of the day, at times 'what is coming'. If you watched Black and White TV those days, the dreams then were mainly B & W, But nowadays you notice your dreams are in colour? Don't u agree?
Strangely over the last year or so i wake up several times remembering what i have just been dreaming. All my dreams are from what i was doing in the UK 15 -30 years ago and with the people i used to hang around with.
Been in Japan for 10 years and never had a dream of being in Japan yet.
Although there isn't always a hidden meaning to our dreams, I feel in broad terms they represent an interaction between the unconscious and the conscious. Dreams are projections of parts of ourselves. They teach that it's important to be aware of our feelings and how they connect us to our environment
Had a dream last night where I was on the street and pointed out to some J-locals that some Japanese woman had done something illegal and when some J-cops arrived they proceeded to accuse me, give me a brusque pat-down, and glare accusingly at me with one even taking a swipe at me. Hope this one doesn't come true !
If you are somewhat read-up on dreams, and have experience in relationships, being able to read or interpret dreams or add words for dreams can be easy. People who find dream reading useful, find the words that are given for dreams are often something they cant pull out of themself. Nightmares, alike. The turn from victim to assailant. Other types of dreams wont be spoken about easily and can be pre-cognitive; but despite accuracy are usually meant for the dreamer and for a mind-set to have weight on their decisions; ime. So some bearing, like any other words or experiences you encounter.
Dreams and what you see in them are often not direct images of what you see. That is, they are symbols of other things in your life at that time. I find a great source to interpret symbols can be found at ww.w dot dreammoods dot kom - you know what to do.
Agree with Maria. My dreams often have underlying meaning especially if they are vivid. I have had precognitive dreams, my dreams have helped me to make decisions and understand myself better.
Absolutely. My stresses, fears and worries come out in my dreams, sometimes subtly, sometimes pretty literally. This morning I dreamt that I was late for work, so I woke up... on time.
A lot of my dreams tend to be nonsense or focused around the last thing I thought about before falling asleep, but I have had a few that made my deepest fears and anxieties that much clearer, made me come face to face with them in a way that I purposely refused to do while awake. I think dreams can be very good at that.
i believe mind is like a sort of a hard disk and it needs to cool off during night and sort all the information received during the day, just as you decompose and compress your hard drive. that's why in our dreams we get all sorts of info mixed up, different times and places, seemingly unconnected people etc. basically, the brain sorts recently input info with rarely accessed info etc.
so i believe both consciousness and subconsciousness to be reflextions of reality and not the other way around. they are completely influenced by our "real lives" but have very limited to none influence on reality.
I think dreams simply process all the information that you take in while you are awake and rearranges it in interesting ways. Of course all your desires and feelings are there, but stuff from a long time ago creeps in from time to time. The past is the future is the present.
Dreams mean something that is for sure. I keep having a dream of this beautiful woman about to take off all her clothes but as soon as the pants come off, I wake up. Every time and its so frustrating. I start off my day frustrated because of that dream.
not sure, but it's weird that as a child i used to have dreams that i'd be running and then all the sudden fall into a deep hole...very scary.
it's been like 20 years since i had that dream.
On two separate occasions I have had very memorable dreams involving people who were dead within 48 hours.
On how many separate occasions have you had memorable dreams involving people who were NOT dead within 48 hours? Perhaps these dreams were only memorable because of the coincidence.
If u believe in Hell and Heaven, then dreams are just glimpses of what you will get when you die...if u don't believe, you will just end up as a ghost roaming Japan ;)
Like masterkun said Dreams are the visions of your deepest thoughts. Always notice when I sleep I dream of the things Ive did that day. Book a trip to italy. Dream about Italy. Not exactly Italy, always some weird transformation of the subject. I used to have some good dreams, now they are horrible :(
Dreams and nightmares are a metaphor for your deepest desires, most painful regrets and past traumas and fears associated with the future. Nightmares are an ongoing cathartic process as the subconcious releases negative emotion associated with past trauma or an indication of underlying fear. Dreams essentially represent your desires and passions which may have been conciously suppressed for a period of time. Once you fall asleep the conscious mind can no longer suppress the subconcious mind and all emotions within surface. Trouble is which mind to believe.
