Do you think smartphones are becoming too complicated with too many functions?

By "functions", do you mean apps or actual smartphone functions?

In the case of apps, I think they are great because the owner can choose what apps to install or use.

In the case of smartphone functions, yes, I think there are far too many that the average user probably doesn't even know exist, but the resources which companies spend on the R&D for those unused functions drive the smartphone cost up.

I think in many cases you will be able to tell a person's age by how he or she answers this question.

Having the ability to do something complicated is not the same as doing something complicated. The basic functions of smartphones are still very simple.

I don't care for them much. But I'm from an era where landlines and letter writing was the preferred method of communication.

Refused getting a mobile for years until it became an absolute necessity.

My thoughts exactly! Well actually my exact thought was, "Gee, is JT trying to peg just how over-the-hill their average user is with this question?"
