Do you think the U.S.-Japan relationship will change with Yoshihide Suga as Japan's new prime minister?

Not really much, he's from the same feather as Abe, although we'll see how he handles things as they come.

Doubt very much US-JPN relations will change even after a new US Administration. In fact things are likely to improve.

Nope

I don't think it will change since Suga administration is merely an extension of Abe's. I am looking forward to see how President Trump will approach him.

Not until Jan 21, 2021. Then respect will return for all US allies.

NK and China will become belligerent again.

Japan, SK, Taiwan, need to get along better and have a mutual defense pact that spreads to all the less wealthy SE Asean community. Eventually, say 50 yrs, China under a different political system, could join too. Wouldn't that be nice?

"For" maybe. I don't see it returning "from" allies though.

The problem is that now the world has seen that the American system is broken, and that your people are stupid enough to elect a Trump. Until now, the American economy has been such a powerful force that we were willing to allow that, due to an inherent belief that at least Americans had good interests at heart. Trump exposed that to be false, and the world cannot allow the American hegemony to continue. The majority of countries in the world have been diversifying their exports and imports away from America over the past four years.

Even if Biden is elected, the world now knows that he next president can (and with the revolving door of D/R presidents) and likely will be another Trump, it's just not worth it to continue putting all the eggs in the American basket.

Unfortunately, it's doubtful the world will ever be able to trust America again unless/until it goes through a revolution. Doing otherwise would be like trusting a junky who is still using.

Or rather, if Biden is elected, doing otherwise would be like trusting a junky who isn't using now, but refuses to get treatment. It's only a matter of time before they're going to start using again.

Trump came once. Unless America has MAJOR structural reform, another Trump can and almost definitely will make himself shown in a few years.

It will have, the American election will change their relationship with everybody. In that aspect Suga or Abe would still be a much less important part.

NOTHING will change under this muppet's leadership. Nothing. And the sense of despair with regards to Japan's future will only grow.

It depends on how Suga rolls down that bunker or how quick he can run after Trump with golf clubs in his hands.
