Four weeks after the March 11 quake and tsunami, on what areas would you like to see the media focus their reporting?

I'd like to see more on the rebuilding efforts, as well as more information on how well charitable donations are making it to the affected areas.

I'd like to see infinitely less on the nuclear reactor situation. It's become abundantly clear there's not going to be any dramatic meltdown, nor is the area around the plant going to become an unlivable irradiated wasteland for the next 10,000 years. So the media jackals who were counting on just such an outcome to help prop up ad revenue are just going to have settle for something a little less horrific, as disappointing as that may be for some of those soulless bastards.

I'd like to see...

• reporting on a successful government program that has found homes for all the evacuees.

• a report on all the nations that have sent help - either material or manpower.

I want to see more of Sendai. It took a hell of a shake and apparently is still there. I want to see what survived.

That is such a cheap shot. NO ONE wants to see Japan fail, fall, succumb, destroyed or spread false accusations about Japan and this disaster. Everyone in the world wants to help Japan, the problem is that when the foreign media is criticizing Japan, it is suddenly called Japan Bashingand that is purely inaccurate. Don't approach this from an emotional point of view, stay objective. What I would like to see is: Japan showing more coverage of the international community trying to help rebuild it. How the elderly and the children are coping with this tragedy and the aftermath. *And the efforts to assure the public on how to keep or food and water safe.

More happy news like tarento affairs, fashion and beauty and more upbeat stories about the goings on up north.

This. From watching/reading the foreign media you would think the nuclear crisis was the only thing happening. The more important story is people's recovery from the disaster in Tohoku.

There are plenty of stories to be told of children starting back or returning to school, little ways that life has returned to normal, and the things that people are doing to rebuild their lives and communities. How about more news about how people have survived and come together?

The nuclear crisis feeds the foreign media's desire for chaos overseas. They want drama for ratings or page views. That's why you almost never hear positive international stories unless they are too big to ignore. Sad.

Some good news coming out of Tohoku would be nice. Survival stories, good deeds, etc...

I would like to see the media focusing their attention on the towns/villages nearby the reactors that aren't getting any assistance. Most relief workers are told to stay away and the residents are told to keep themselves indoors. Thus hardly any fuel, food, and water is getting to them and many don't have the means to evacuate. Almost all contact between them and the rest of Japan has been cut-off.

I would like to see more on what the Japanese SDF is doing, nothing has been reported for days now.

I'd like to see more thinking ahead on the nuclear crisis. Stop the dribble reporting on little events happening now. Give me scenarios backed by data so we know how to prepare.

You cant see this story for a long time...my city still many, many thousands in shelters (of school gymnasium etc). No housing for most victims. Maybe after 6 more months this is possible.We have to hope.

Id like to see reports about the government subsidising personal solar systems for electricity, so that at these economic hard times they would be affordable; instead of all the stupid talk about turning airconditioners from 26 to 28 degrees-like seriously how much difference would that make?! And I guess rebuilding strategies, and personal efforts made from the society to change their lifestyle and not just relying on government and big companies to pave the way out, in light of the recent events. Id also like to see more reports on those willing to move and change from the more devastated areas, rather than the average, "this is where we live and want to stay". And in contrast, those in the cities wanting to move out and try inaka kurashi. Encouraging each other from opposite sides of the fence. In addition, I would like to see reports on how the rubbish and clean-up is being processed in economical terms-rubbish is money, and blinding people to that, and especially those who rubbish it is, just seems a lot like someones are having a field day.

More on the the evacuees and their daily battle against cold, hunger, and other basic necessities and wants, and what the future holds for them.

How about reporting on damage in and around tokyo, there was alot of roads, buildings & facilitys damaged and very little has been reported about it as the focus was on the tsunami then it quickly changed to the nuclear plant.

Would also like to see how the housing of the tsunami victims is going and the rebuilding process.

The evacuees - how are they being helped? Aren't there any nice hotels or dormitories somewhere that they could be housed in? I thought that the US treated the Katrina survivors poorly, but I see that the Japanese survivors are being treated just as badly. Pretty much just left there,on the floors of gyms, laying on cardboard boxes, while the TEPCO executives live in luxury.

I would like to see stories about Japanese activists in the streets, leading a movement toward sustainable energy. I believe this is a chance for Japan to become a showcase for alternative energy use.

I want to hear when and how the charities like Red Cross and Second Harvest will start spending the billions of yen they have collected! I think this is one of the greatest injustices of the re-building process!

i would like the media to report who has been pocketing the millions of dollars in donations that japan has been receiving, domestically and internationally.

Obviously it is drama and tragedy that sells the media that lures advertising that makes money. Never let a crisis go to waste. Nothing personal to Japan. But to say there is rarely good news is absurd. Even CNN puts out multiple positive stories everyday on their broadcasts, their international and US websites.

@ onewrldoneppl - It is now closer to a billion dollars; and no one questions at all where the money will go. Guilty-laden witnesses continue to donate more and more every day, ignorant that their money is all tied-up in an unfeeling bureaucracy while the victims suffer in agony...

I would like to see focus put on the people just outside the evacuation zone. Life hasn't been easy on them and they have been largely ignored.

I would like to see an in depth 5 part series about the charities. Where's the money ? I see people standing outside the station are they volunteers ? What is the percentage that will be taken out of the charity ?

I would like to see more on the other power plants in Japan as well as the one we all ready no about.
