Surprisingly, yes. While income has dipped a bit, there were no airfares to pay for on a trip home, and we've been going out less, basically making up for the difference.

Same with kyronstavic, I've been able to save quite the same last year because of me staying home, reducing the need to take public transport regularly, eating out and travelling. my household expenses shot up though, but it's a worthy trade-off.

With a greater than 40% reduction in income, my expenditures have likewise been drastically reduced.

definitely spending less.

travel, especially abroad, ate up a big chunk of our budget, so definitely yes. But the moment travel will open again, all those saving will be gone in a second!

no, been ordering more from online stores

In some ways, yes.
But family, personal and professional issues during the pandemic have negated it.

Why save? So a relative that does not like you inherits when the reaper takes you?
Spending like crazy traveling because venues empty, trains super thin with passengers, and cheap hotel rooms with great service!
Spending way more than usual.

@Reckless: Pour the beers over ice in a very tall mug. Goes further, saves the liver and helps the wallet.

Absolutely I’m amazed how much I’ve saved, it’s amazing how much money is wasted on coffee eating out ect . It’s definitely changed my spending habits !

Sorry to hear that.
I had more money, but I have given away a lot of it to people that have not got any....
