Tokyo to Niigata, round trip green car and ANA Crowne Plaza hotel for a night, total under 19,000yen. Amazing.

Used it once so far and have booked another trip as well. Smooth as silk.

Under the circumstances it's a good system: helps to support businesses whose livelihoods have been jeopardised by previous government policy, and is a good way for travellers to recover some of their tax money in the form of travel discounts that the government would've wasted anyway.

Nope, and will not. Doing my part in slowing the spread of the virus. Recommend the same to everyone.

It is/was one of the dumbest programs I've seen.

Used it in August and September. Went off without a hitch both times. May use it for New Year's, too.

We used it once and it was fine. Regarding the "smoothness", since we live far from that destination, we had to use the vouchers in a rush on the way home. They are only valid in the prefecture you visit and adjacent prefectures. With more time and shop info, we could have made better purchases rather than simply use the vouchers up like we did.

I used it Kyoto last weekend. You can only get the 35% disocunts on your accommadation if you book and pay with a credit card in advance - if you want to pay cash at the hotel you will not get the discount. I booked via Booking.com and not all hotels are partaking in the scheme.

The vouchers related to this, ¥1000 off food and shopping were so dififcult to use because a lot of small business either didn't know about it or didn't have the capacity to deal with it.

The government needs to ensure the industry understand or else only big businesses will benefit.

Too much work.

I just went online booked hotel, rental car, and flights all in one click. And it was even cheaper than the go to nonsense "discount" and bureaucratic hoopla.
