Forget it folks, Afghanistan is beyond any help.

Best policy is the stance of never killing. And then help construct irrigation canals to make their land which was once quite fertile arable again and if necessary instruct farming technology.

By staying out and letting America keep sorting it out;the way it is been sorting it out.

Global Military industrial complex needs money/war, so there needs to be 1 war every decade.

Stay home.

Send in ground forces and be willing to go toe-to-toe with the Taliban. Indeed, to support this change in policy and improve employment figures among young men of cannon fodder, sorry military age, Japan might consider establishing some press gangs that can lurk in front of Shibuya Station.

by stopping the american oil pipe line from being constructed, giving the country back to the american funded taliban (no one cared what they did before they were made scape goats for 9-11) and realising that this war will never be won because there are so few troops there and how can you beat an enemy which is scattered around mountains all over the country. This war isnt meant to be won its meant to be prolonged. so if japan has any sense it will stay well away form this pointless war which serves only to kill our troops, get an oil pipe line for the US and keep the Osama myth alive.

"Need more kawaii ambassadors!"

If thousands of Japanese women went to Afghanistan wearing their boots and short skirts/hot pants, it would definitely cause disruption among the terrorists. It would give them something else to think about besides killing/maiming.

Need more kawaii ambassadors! Send them into Afghanistan, that should do something!

"Japan can help best by not allowing themselves to be bullied into further supporting America's conflict"

Like I said, yes, by all means, leave the dirty work to others, lol. As if Japan doesn't benefit from a free Afghanistan, lol.

Japan can help best by not allowing themselves to be bullied into further supporting America's conflict.

Yes, by all means, let's have the benevolent Taliban come back and take their place as the rightful rulers of Afghanistan, lol.

Um, well, we already had successive American administrations who for many years saw it self as the rightful rulers of the 'free world' and enforced that 'right' with their military. Personaly I see no difference - both want to dominate and are willing to fight/kill because both feel they have the moral or religious high ground.

Convince the americans that there is no point on drag the war for other 8 years. Send 40k more soldiers or go home.

These things of comfort, we take for granted,is scarce in afghanistan.
