All my passwords that matter are long and a mix of letters (no words), symbols, numbers and non-English. I actually have them memorized, though I have them partially written down (characters missing) on a piece of paper somewhere, just in case.
I write them down. Then a site says I have to change it. This happens every 3 to 6 months for some sites. I write the new one down. Then the site says I have to have new one. I fill up entire sheets of copy paper. Then I forget and use my old one. Have to change again. It drives me mad. I'm old and memorization just doesn't work for me.
I just use a simple easy-to-remember formula for the universal password I use for everything:
The first letters of the first names of the presidents who were in office during both world wars, followed by the last two digits of the birth years of the members of the Beatles, and ending with a tilde and a close parenthesis.

That’s the punchline to a skit by the Goons. Search “What time is it, Eccles?”

I have used a password manager for years. I don't know my passwords. Long and complicated. A different one for every site.

I write them down. If someone is in my house and stealing them, then I have bigger issues than accounts being stolen.

I do not remember all the usernames and passwords.
I keep them on an online Excel sheet and lookup if needed.

Using a password manager automatically login when using one of your sites. Nothing to look for. Nothing to think about.

If a site is hacked my passport manager sends an email to change my password.

Used the same four passwords since the 1990s if I need to create a different variation of them I do but in basis they are the same.

1。password manager
2。remember basically all of them, since they need to be 10 digits, 1 special character, 1 symbol, and 1 cap letter.
