Fine.

What's your point?

More capable of having a conversation that’s not been scripted; more knowledgable about the area in which they work; more capable of speaking English; less robotic.

But, yes, what’s your point? To ‘prove’ something?

What service? These days they just scan the items and watch as you bag them yourself and process your own payment using the touchscreen.

The service in convenience stores is basically what you would expect it to be.

Can’t say I take much note of the colour of the staff’s passport.

As others have asked, what’s your point?

11 ( +12 / -1 )

As the others here say:

Fine. They just scan the items under the scanner, it beeps a few times, today I pay by card or phone, earlier I handed over the money and got back the change. At most I bought something fried that they pulled out of the fryer. It's no extra special service, so I don't see any reason to complain. I especially see no reason to complain knowing how much money they're getting for it.

What's your point?

loaded question.

their service is more than fine.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Zero problem.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

No difference at all. Strange question though.

M3, the Lawson nightshift (1000 yen per hour), Ino kochi

I m on nights myself, I am not on a remuneration of 1000 yen per hour..

Watch, beyond the touch screens.

I have, yes call me sad, but Lawson nights they are processing deliveries.

At the same time stacking the shelves. Just two member of staff.

1000 yen per hour. Please

4 ( +5 / -1 )

They get the job done. That's the main thing. I don't need them to shout out irasshaimase into my earhole.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

My local Lawson is a god send.

I have on a number of occasions poached there staff.

I couldn't care less of there ethnicity.

Minimum wage 1500 yen/hour.

Whether they are Japanese or Vulcan

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Stack the shelves, clean the toilets, fry the food........

Empty the garbage, and at the same time smile.

Mop the floors. I wont suggest where the mop is placed.

For 800 yen per hour.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

They need to feed their family back home. They will do good but i wonder if they sometimes are frustrated with Japanese bow and repetitive words.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

It’s the same with ANY staff, with all brands, locations and hour of the day, or night. Convenient.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What service? Hitting a few buttons at the register?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Well, if market research is the ultimate goal, its is a downer for sure.

These convenience stores, just ruthlessly take advantage of there employees.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Yeah @Reckless 2:47p but 7/11 Japan doesn’t have a self-serve BigBite, nor bottomless fountain drinks. Plus, the Playalinda location was pretty ‘liberal’ with dress codes, from what I recall.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Zero issues, irrespective of Japanese or non Japanese the staff are always helpful

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Sorry for them. They are an easy target of abuse with "nihongo jozu desune."

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I chat with the Chinese girls at my combini all the time. They’re cool.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Conbini staff are becoming redundant what with those self serve tills. They're basically just standing there pressing a few buttons and you do the rest of the payment yourself.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Biased.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Fine for buying snacks but I never trust then for paying bills, so go to another conbini with Japanese staff.
