Closest I've been to a concert is at dance clubs with some famous Dj's and everybody is just standing and facing the Dj. No one's dancing just facing forward and me, starting to feel stupid coz I'm the only one trying to dance.
There was one lady who shushed me because apparently your not supposed to clap or whistle after one particular song at The Yellow Monkey concert. And those hand movements...LOL
Japanese fans were the only fans to actually hear the Beatles play and sing back in the 60s. All the other fans were screaming too loud.
Went to a heavy metal concert in a small hall a long while back. The performers (Japanese) jumped, howled, growled, Peter-Townshend their guitars, and Hide-ed the drums. The audience stood silently and watched. I was impressed with their ability not to be moved by the music.

Went to see Guns n Roses in Saitama last year. Every person around me was stood bolt upright and barely a movement seen.
I thought I was in the final scene of "Close encounters"
The sound system sucked too.

Some spend most of the time facing backwards and taking selfies (and end up with something thrown at their heads from the performers).

Japanese musicians can mimic anyone, but there is no soul. It carries over to the concerts.
